A school bus has an extremely difficult time getting out onto Baker Ave.
A police car gets stuck on Baker on Tuesday night
The mayor REFUSED to declare a snow emergency, but the mayor claims the streets are all clean.
Does this look like Baker was PROPERLY plowed?
Snow was Sunday into Monday. This street seems to have alternate parking ALL the time but while the mayor did not declare the snow emergency resulting in mandatory alternate side parking throughout the city, he did not even make sure that the taxpayers' money was used to tow away illegally parked cars. Look at this first photo, from news report today, the car has been parked there 48 hours and the mayor and his city hall cronies ignored the city's laws.
CLEARLY THIS IS EVIDENCE, TOTALLY IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE that while this Baker Ave as the alternate side parking all year, the city did NOT tow cars in accordance with it's own rules. Just look how the snow is not pushed back to the curb -- NOT EVEN ON ONE SIDE!!!
Here is an image when the police got stuck
Look at the left side of the street. Mayor claims the street has been cleared. Then how is it there's snowbanks in the road. Oh, the mayor puts all the blame on the homeowners, he stated in the interview that the residents are all putting the snow back in the street. WHAT A BIG LIAR
Ah the guy that got Channel 9 up there is the one who posted something the other day that someone sent me and I put in a post.
But let's see, "the mayor and his team are doing a wonderful job." Can't help pointing out liars.
Here is the story from Ch 9

A couple on Baker Avenue in Schenectady said their road is unsafe because it hasn't been plowed in weeks. The city said it has been plowed, and residents need to be patient. Karen Tararache has the story.
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Schenectady resident Ed Smith claims Baker Avenue hasn't been plowed in two weeks. It has become so unsafe, he said that he shot this cell phone video of a school bus trying to navigate its way out of Howe Elementary School.
"My fear at this point is if you had an emergency on that street you'd have a fatality because you'd never be able to get the fire trucks through," Smith said.
Also having a tough time- Schenectady Police. Smith said when officers got stuck on Baker Avenue Tuesday night they began to notify residents that they would tow anyone who was not obeying the No Parking signs.
"If cars are parked down the streets we can't move a plow down the street it's fairly simple-don't put snow back on the street is the other thing," said McCarthy.
The mayor insists all the city's streets have been plowed and now they've begun the process of actually getting rid of the snow. "The crews that we have we are running 12 on, 12 off so we're running crews 24 hours a day now again to do the snow removal," said McCarthy. But for Ed, that's not enough. The proof, he said is in what you see on the street.
They don't care they don't even care, maybe if we got a response but you know we're not getting anything. We're getting ignored," Smith said. Schenectady Police say officers will be out again Wednesday night enforcing the emergency no parking signs. They say they'll be out along Baker Avenue and Union Street as crews continue the snow removal process
.
But of course the precious downtown is probably cleaned well, courtesy of the taxpayers on Baker Ave.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
I experienced a similar issue when a school bus could not make the (right) turn from McClellan onto Bradley. Due to a car being so far away from the curb due to the snow... The bus couldn't quite do it.
There was a school bus behind it on McClellan - so it was stopped with cars piling up behind it.
There was a school bus (#3) also on McClellan going the opposite direction trying to take a left onto Bradley, it naturally was unable to move due to bus #1.
There were also of course cars coming up from Bradley where it crosses McClellan.
Now picture this - ALL these buses turn on their flashing red lights even with no kids loading or unloading. Even 2 of the bus drivers out of their buses trying to determine what to do.
Bus #3, with it's flashing red lights on, has it's "blocking arm" that swings out in front of the bus, actually blocking part of the way down Bradley street.
The car drivers - especially coming down Bradley were confused about what to do. Red lights are on, buses going nowhere, traffic stopped, and any cars not moving that can are just going to contribute to the problem.
Now I don't know if there is some rule about if a bus becomes "stuck" for some reason that they need to turn on their lights, but for some reason these drivers did.
What a fiasco. Thank you Mr. Mayor.
Somehow even though we don't have the staff and funding to implement the snow emergencies that every other city around us does, but we do have the staff and funds to implement a 12x2 shift system to later remove snow after it has become more difficult to move.
I can't wait to leave this area where we have a bunch of freaking morons electing a bunch of freaking morons.
Old news. Mayor McCheese refuses to ever call a snow emergency when ALL other cities do so. Back in the day the police came through with bull horns telling residents to move their cars so that plows could clean to the curb. This might increase revenue generation so boo-hoo. The current incompetent Mayor refuses to do anything except increase taxes that increases the confiscatory foreclosure rate. And lie about job creation. No wonder Roger Hull, Peter G and Riggi are all lining up support to be the next Mayor.
