Wait a minute, you got to that link, this "movoto" claims they get the information from the FBI.  Someone else on these boards claimed a while back that crime is actually going down according to the FBI.

Neither DV nor this movoto provided links to the FBI page that actually contains the stats.

However, can any of us doubt that Schenectady has the highest crime in the local area?  With the leadership just so focused on their rich cronies downtown, they ignore the things that are important and they ignore the residents.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

So the Daily Telegraph, a British Newspaper, is rating the safety of NYS cities. Hmmm. I wonder how many reporters they have here. I'm also wondering if they do the same type of studies in Great Britain. Where are the stats for the most dangerous cities in that country. Statistics, polls and ratings are pretty much like assholes. Everybody has one. Just sayin'.

Oh, I just saw the op used stats from Movoto. Let's see, that appears to be some sort of real estate site. Like I said in my previous post. Statistiics, polls and ratings are like..well you get the point. I'm guessing that's where the Daily Telegraph got their opinion from.

LOL. If you want a real chuckle, Sky News has a nightly program where a commentator and 2 guests comment on stories appearing in all of their papers. Funny stuff. I love the droll sense of humor those folks have.

Just for balance.

A blogger from Rochester made a trip to Schenectady. Here are his impressions, as well as the thoughts of many young folks who live here.

I'm beginning to see that part of being a Schenectadian is the propensity to trash the city you live in rather than leave. I guess self-deprecation is also "so Schenectady".

Hard to leave when your house won't sell because of it being assessed at 50% or more of its actual market value. Hard to find a buyer who will buy a house in a city that is overtaxed, 5th dangerous city in NY, 11th dangerous small city in the country. For many they're stuck here not by choice.
