Someone sent us this.

Not surprising the mayor will NOT return phone calls to the taxpayers.  If it was Galesi that called him about snow on State St, the mayor would drop everything he was doing and take care of his crony.  Mayor would do the same for Paul Mitchell Co, the Hilton family, the tax deadbeats:  the Marcella family, the Legere cousins, and Frank and Mary, and the Proctor's cameraman.   Of course he would drop everything for King Phillip and for the Mallozzi's too.

Apparently this is on the face book thing.  And we were told that many people in the city are posting to Vince Riggi's face book account about the city not plwoing the snow and he is responding, and that none of the other council members have a face book page. it sounds like the other council members do not want to be contacted.  If what people write can be seen by everyone, then of course the mayor and his council don't want to respond to the taxpayers in public.  Everything is a secret in the city.

What's the need for a emergency?  Are you in some kind of danger?

I think Patches intended to say "snow emergency" declaration, one of those things that all other cities around here do, except Schenectady, you know, because the mayor claims it costs money to do, but the city has money to give to the millionaires downtown, but not for critical essential snow plowing in the neighborhoods.

Point of fact.   The Mayor did in fact reply to the lack of a snow emergency declaration.   Just view last weeks, 2/3, commitee meeting.   Councilman Riggi did question the Mayor on this very topic.   The Mayor response was two fold.   There was no money and not enough manpower.   We were wondering where that million dollar surplus that was announced last year is residing.   More snow on the way be careful with your shoveling.   Not worth a heart attack.

Of course, neither the mayor, nor the county, nor Metroplex, nor the dem council members, nor the mayor's cheerleaders will tell the taxpayers where the taxpayers' money went.

But we all know it went to downtown and the millionaire political cronies.   Corruption about on the same level as at the state level.

A friend of ours told us about that meeting, we have to set some time aside to watch it.  Apparently there was also discussion at that meeting about some parking rule change, unrelated to snow, that the current rule is maximum 48 hours and Queen Leesa wanted it to be longer but any change is not going to be done.

In the above, the mayor replies to a city council member during a council meeting.

Where are the replies from the mayor to individuals who write or call him about snow?    Pass the buck to a department which passes it to a recorded phone message I'll bet.

Just wait until spring and the potholes they will bring...
the city portion of altamont ave is already a disaster as is heldeberg ave...but rest assured, the proctors district will be wonderful...
counting the years until I pass this "morass on the Mohawk" on the way home via the NYS thruway.

I saw parked cars being towed on Brandywine around 5:30 this evening. I thought it was an accident at first because there was a cop, lights going, and a couple tow trucks. Then I noticed the cars they were putting on the trucks were packed with snow and you could see where they had been parked.

May not be a snow emergency but maybe they'll at least clear a couple of the main roads for once.

The reason for cars to be towed on Brandywine is that Brandywine is a "priority street" which means no parking on either side after 3 inches as fallen (until it has been plowed).  This "priority street" system has been in existence for as long as I can remember and in no way has anything to do with the phrase "Snow Emergency" (which is the declaration, at will, by the mayor to mandate alternate side parking for 48 hours on every street in the city which then supercedes any and all parking rules/restrictions normally in place on any given street.

Yes, but normally they don't even clear the priority streets. They've just been plowing around the cars on Brandywine for years without towing them.
