There's the billionaire political crony's theater with a brutal attack and the city tried to keep that attack hush hush
The former mayor, the BS mayor, tried to give himself a raise and attempted to keep it hush hush.
Quite a few political cronies of the city/co/plex dems are tax delinquents and the city tries to keep that hush hush by violating state law in not publishing the list of foreclosures.
And now the Schenectady city school district has kept violence in it's schools hush hush.
And worse yet is that there certainly are good kids with decent and responsible parents, but they are denied any choice whatsoever in where their children are educated.
Schenectady NEEDS choice in education. It NEEDS some good charter schools. The overwhelming majority of parents in the city cannot in any way afford to send their children to private/religious schools.
For shame on the school district. More reason that even more people will flee the city, more houses will be put up for sale, more drop in property values.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The New York State Comptroller recently released an audit about the violence in Schenectady High School, but the superintendent and some parents think the report is outdated.
The report claims that during the 2011-2012 school year, the Schenectady City School District did not report 290 out of nearly 2,000 incidents, including cases of assault, arson, bullying and drug use at the high school. But some parents said that number isn’t concerning because of the size of the school, and they said the report is dated.
Larry Spring was appointed Schenectady City School District Superintendent in 2012. He said the comptroller’s office couldn’t clarify the cases.
“You know, what are you talking about?” he questioned. “Arson? And they were unable to point us to the referral that they thought should have been coded as an arson.”
But he said the district addressed every incident internally. Schenectady parents said they weren’t shocked by the report.
“I don’t see it being a big deal,” parent Kathy Harrison said. “My son’s a sophomore, and he hasn’t come home really talking about many fights.”
“It’s certainly concerning, and there are a lot of kids in the school, but in all my incidents in the school, I’ve never actually seen anything myself,” parent Gina Chiarito said.
Moving forward, Spring said they will work on compiling records, but ultimately, they will focus on strengthening the relationships they have with parents and law enforcement. Share this:
Mr. Spring apparently sees his mission first and foremost as social engineering. He sees the violent kids as being somehow picked on by the white kids, never mind that the kids on the receiving end of all that violence are not white. Anything he says will be in support of his mission, and he can't let in any information contrary to his mind-set or his head will explode.

And remember, he is a staunch supporter of social promotion.
And the people of the city have no alternative. The city NEEDS a charter school or two, after all I don't foresee anytime soon that the government gives parents some money to send their children to private or parochial schools.
And cheerleaders for the dems and the city and the city schools/anti charter schools, who are not and never will a parent nor a taxpayer, have absolutely no clue what it's like for parents so such cheerleaders should shut up about the schools and charter schools

What else did you expect? The same pathetic district that was run by terrorists for decades and set a legal precedent with the infamous "conspiracy of one". No one knows from nuthin and everyone keeps looking the other way. If nothing is reported than there is no problem-right Gazetto? The same thing is going on with Gazetto City crime reporting. Nothing hits the paper therefore the problem can be minimized for the sheeple readers. "Handful of murders"-like that's OK. Kids being robbed, good kids having to hide and eat lunch in fear, bullying, gang violence, rapes, the randy swim coach, etc and no one gives a f---.
Bravo to you MC1 for bringing up a vital Schenectady Charter School to give these poor kids an option out. The Schenectady Charter was closed by Taxin Tonko and Eric Elys because to was not up to their lofty standards. A lot of talk and no action on this issue. Putting the union first-taxpayers/kids last.
ALBANY — Two local girls' basketball teams have stopped playing in the aftermath of a fight that broke out following a non-league game between the varsity squads of Albany Leadership Charter High School and Schenectady High School players and spectators Thursday.
Shake those pom poms for Schenectady city school district.
Yep, do NOT allow the financially struggling parents in the city, trying to pay the taxes of the billionaires downtown, and trying to pay the taxes of the TAX DELINQUENT POLITICAL CRONIES of the mayor, city DEMS, county and plex, don't NOT let parents have ANY tax money to choose where they want THEIR children educated!!!!!

this is what education has done .....standards high...but not owning up to "no child left behind"....we coddle the kids that cannot do good in their own district
and put them all over in different districts.....see buses from outside districts coming to your local schools....make sense?????????...no...wasted money...
and usually these are the kids that are the troublemakers....to have to go to school and pass a metal detector everyday is outrageous....money wasted...
if they don't live up to standards in their own district.....then what???????.....we continue to try and educate and in the end they don't graduate anyway...
more emphasis on tech programs than on readin, writing, and arithmetic.....good old days when students had respect and wanted to learn.....
so when you have a majority of EDUCATORS that don'e see the "light"....what do you have failure....
The students today do not get the education, socialization and learn how to respect one another.....all about technology....what does that teach??
