I guess if people believe that empty, deteriorating buildings downtown was better than they might agree with you.

Actually, I have NEVER denied that a SMALL PORTION of these projects were financed by Metroplex.
You and the other nayboobs failed to mention that PRIVATE INVESTORS provided the vast majority of the millions of dollars invested in these projects.
It is so sad to see that the nayboobs insist on starting another new year with their outrageous and malicious lies.

So these private investors get rewarded by being tax exempt?
They get rewarded by getting taxpayer's Metroplex handouts?
they get rewarded by having the taxpayers shoulder their portion of taxes?
these are not outrageous or malicious lies DV.
i don't want to come across like mc1 the troll.....but I don't see how these businesses have benefited the taxpayers.
do you?

Only you would consider Schenectady being twice as far in debt as progress.

You are correct about the doubling.  The fees being separated make it look like it hasn't but if you are escrowed at the bank you know for a fact that the taxes have doubled.

I don't understand how so many "connected" people are double dipping on STAR and NOTHING is being done about it?

And there is NO way the city is better than 10 years ago

So true.

But the politically connected get away with it because this mayor (like the BS mayor before him) REFUSE to divulge the TRUTHS.   Remember, it is STATE LAW that MMANDATES that municipalities publish the list of ALL properties behind in taxes in the newspaper every year.  Remember, this mayor DID NOT obey the law.   But how many people IN the city know about that?   Really, how many?

And so the taxpayers of the city are kept in the dark about the politically connected TAX DEADBEATS who are allowed to continue to go without paying taxes AND not lose their homes.   If you are not politically connected and you are behind, tough sh*t, you are going to lose your home.

The taxpayers in the city do NOT know that Proctor's employee Joe Piazzo who tapes the council meetings has an interest free mortgage from the city taxpayers, does not have any repayment schedule, and is allowed to keep his house even though he has VIOLATED clauses in the mortgage that state he must pay taxes, but he is over three years behind in paying taxes.  His house, however, actually did show up on a list that was published on this Rotterdam info site, however, we know for a FACT that he STILL has NOT paid his taxes and he still continues to own  his home.

How many taxpayers IN the city know that Mary D'Alessandro Gilmore (wife of Metroplex favored architect Gilmore) who brags during the city's gala bus tours (of houses for sale) that oh so so many houses are "under contract" but how many taxpayers know that the official numbers based on deeds do not add up?   How many taxpayers IN the city know the official true numbers of houses actually sold are far far far fewer than Mary brags about.  And how many taxpayers IN the city, who choose to grieve their assessment know that they are sitting there, in front of Mary Mary, telling her that there houses won't sell for what they are assessed for, while Mary Mary is bragging that oh so many houses are selling?  How many people know that?

How many taxpayers IN the city, who sit in front of Mary at the assessment board grievance know that she VIOLATED STATE LAW by having two STAR exemptions?

How many taxpayers IN the city who grieve their assessment (which DOES help lower their tax BILL), are paying higher taxes because they are paying the taxes of this board of assessment member who is politically connected and therefore allowed to be a tax delinquent and not lose her house?

How many taxpayers IN the city know that over the next 10 years they will be paying higher taxes to the tune of approximately $1.6 MILLION out of about $2 MILLION for just ONE SINGLE PROPERTY in the city on behalf of a politically connected TAX DEADBEAT Legeres?   Really, how many people know that?   Very few I'll bet.

How many taxpayers--who voted for that Tanya Hall for schoolboard--know that she has an interest-free mortgage from the taxpayers, with no repayment schedule, with a clause that mandates paying property & school taxes and the high fees that go along with it, and that she is 3 years a TAX DEADBEAT yet she has NOT lost her home?

How many people know that wealthy Marcella, who got a new property for his business AND tax exempt, owns many other properties and doesn't even have the decency to pay the taxes on those properties, BUT the city does NOT foreclose on these TAX DEADBEATS because they are politically connected.\

It's just like the BS mayor, before McThief, who was going to secretly give himself a raise, but thanks to the expert intelligence of Pat Z and working with Riggi, this theft from the taxpayers was no more going to remain a secret.

So much the taxpayers, the homeowners, the residents do not know because the mayor, his dept heads and his buddies on the council, in the county, and on Metroplex all work together to keep things hush hush from the people.  NEVER has there EVER been a DETAILED financial report provided in plain language for the taxpayers of the city as far as things like occupancy rate of the apartments and hotels that the taxpayers paid for (and pay the taxes on).  Never has it really been made clear to the people of the city that Galesi is a BILLIONAIRE but that the financially struggling homeowners are paying for the demolition of a building he owns -- what homeowner is exempted from paying out of their pocket if they need to demolish a garage that is falling apart and needs rebuilding, hell, if the city cites a homeowner with a code violation about a garage, the city will ORDER you to take it down and if you do not do it, paid for out of your own pocket, the city will fine you and possibly put you in jail!   Does Galesi ever go to jail for failure to pay for a demo of a building he owns?  No, because the city RAPES THE HOMEOWNERS under threat of tax foreclosure, to pay for the demo of a building owned by a billionaire, doesn't matter how the homeowners may be struggling financially.  But a politically connected BILLIONAIRE is lavished with money courtesy of the city forcing the expense upon the poor.

Ever notice that of all the stuff Greg Floyd reports on regarding the abuse of the taxpayers, virtually no stories have to do with the city of Schenectady.  The only one besides that building on Erie Blvd (previously a bank I think) is the one about the utility service to the city-owned homes, which the way the mayor allowed the story to be presented, did make it seem like the taxpayers paying the utility bills of these homes was acceptable (i.e., there would be problems if utilities were shut off, and there were problems because the utilities were on) - that story seemed to allude to a catch 22 which makes taxpayers less angry about paying the utility bills of those houses.

There never seems to be the real eye-opening stories on Schenectady, someone we know provided him with some info about 6 months ago about the city of Schdy but nothing has ever been aired.  Something suspicious when the government can prevent news people from reporting truths.

Speaking of that building on Erie Blvd -- the one that was a LONG TIME TAXPAYING property, and the county took it off the tax rolls, it sits there, unused, do we see the day coming when it will be demolished, i.e., "demolition by neglect," AND "demolition paid for by the taxpayers."   That's been several years now, perhaps another "you paid for it" on that topic is needed."

And this is why people who read these posts that we put up MUST get the word out, print these, print the evidence, etc, and pass it around to as many city residents as you can.   Like we've said, people look and see pretty new buildings downtown, it looks clean, etc, but the people fail to realize that they are paying substantially higher taxes for it, while their home values fall and essential services by the city are cut

Precisely.   And DV will NEVER engage in a discussion to illustrate--WITH EVIDENCE--how the taxpayers have benefitted.  Still waiting now three years or is it four years now, that he claimed that county taxes today are lower than they were in the 1970's but NOT ONCE has DV provided one teeny weeny shred of evidence.

It is so sad to see that the nayboobs insist on starting another new year with their outrageous and malicious lies.

"Outrageous and malicious lies?"

Really, what lies have we told?    Tell us DV, which of the following statements is an "outrageous and malicious lie."

-- the city's tax base is massively falling
-- property values in the city are massively falling
-- home sales of houses IN the city are falling while outside the city they are increasing
-- home sale prices of houses IN the city are falling while outside the city they are increasing
-- city homeowners taxpayers are paying drastically increased taxes in order to pay for the taxes of the millionaires and billionaires.
-- Mary Dalessandro lies about how many homes in the city are selling
-- Mary Dalessandro and her metroplex architect husband are tax deadbeats
-- Mary Dalessandro who sits on the board of assessment making decisions about the homeowners STAR denials has violated the law herself by double dipping on STAR
-- Mary Dalessandro sits on the board of assessment and denies reductions in assessments to homeowners who grieve, even when they present 50 and more vastly lower sale prices of similar homes in their neighborhoods.
-- The mayor's appointment of this Mary is a CONFLICT OF INTEREST (ethics violation) because she is being paid by the taxpayers as the city's real estate agent to brag about how wonderful home sales are while seated on the assessment board denying redutions to people no matter how much evidence they have.
-- Philip Morris of Proctors is getting a lavish quarter of a million dollar salary at county taxpayer expense
-- An employee of Proctors who films council meetings got an interest free mortgage from the taxpayers, with no repayment schedule AND is allowed to keep his house even though he NEVER paid taxes on it.
-- The mayor VIOLATES STATE LAW by failing to publish in the newspaper the list of properties in the city, with the owners' names, and amount of delinquent taxes.
-- The mayor and city allow tax deadbeat property owners to retain their properties if they are politically connected to the mayor and the party
--  Homeowners pay increased taxes every year while at the same time essential city services are being reduced to them
--  Many homeowners IN the city are under water on their mortgages due to the wild uncontrolled spending of tax money on millionaires downtown.
--  And YOU, DV, ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE CITY -- you REFUSE to rent IN the city, you REFUSE to buy a house IN the city

So, tell us which one or more of the above are lies.   Can you do that DV?   Can you do that and produce the EVIDENCE to prove any one or more of these is a lie?

New businesses generate sales tax revenue, provide jobs to people who live in and spend money in the community .. and the words "tax exempt" are misleading since many pay property tax or a p.i.l.o.t.   Also, a number of those businesses occupy buildings that were improved (increasing assessed value) or had been tax delinquent properties for years.
Bottom line -- THERE IS INTEREST IN SCHENECTADY PROPERTIES and the nayboobs are malicious liars seeking only to damage/hurt our community.
