it takes too much effort to actually DO something positive

How about YOU do something positive like get some exercise for once and pick up all the trash on Crane Street, I DEFY you to look at it IF you really go to church at St Adelberts, of course we all know that you avoid entering the city anymore, you flee to Nisky.

Wish we had a camera.

I couldn't believe it when we drove up that way today, because some jackass speeder we couldn't get into the lane to turn onto 890, so we risked our lives and drove up Crane St

Where is code enforcement or the SNAP crews for the city, that which taxpayers pay for?   Oh, that's right. the city taxes homeowners for services only for their cronies downtown but REFUSES to spend the tax dollars on cleaning up the neighborhoods.

No, it's the job of the city of Schenectady to do that, that is what people pay taxes for to pay the city crews to do.   But of course, the city ignores the neighborhoods, taxes the people to give money to the millionaires downtown and the gin mills.

But DV says the "nayboobs" should actually DO something, but you don't see him EVER DOING anything IN the city, he doesn't do neighborhood cleanups, he doesn't participate in the Thanksgiving baskets Concern for the Hungry, etc.

Guaranteed, for all the cheering he does for the city, he will NOT go anywhere near that area tomorrow.

"Nayboobs" DO actually DO something -- they inform the people of the truth about the city, and provide EVIDENCE.  Still waiting for DV to provide one teeny weeny shred of evidence that taxes are lower now than in the 1970s.

And why must there be a "Concern for the Hungry" in the city?  Because they have no money because they are paying the taxes for the downtown millionaires and DV totally supports the poor paying the taxes of the rich, cheers for all the wild uncontrolled spending of tax dollars on downtown even when people lose their homes.  But he calls himself a Catholic and REFUSES to EVER answer and state whether Jesus supports the poor paying the taxes of the rich in Schenectady.

THEN WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT DV THAT HE SHOULD BE DOING IT? You act like a jilted lover or something the way you carry on...GIVE IT UP and
focus on the issues and not on DV. He's not going to answer you, help you, provide anything that you want...hasn't and isn't going to start!!!

Focus on the issues and not DV? Here's the problem. M/C carefully finds FACTS to back up her assertions, posts the FACTS, then DV comes on here and accuses her of lying. Asked for the proof of statements such as "Mont Pleasant is improving", DV comes back with some sock puppet to make increasing vicious ad hominem attacks on her, all the while never actually posting one piece of real evidence showing where M/C is wrong or lying about anything. If someone isn't interested in using this forum to get the truth out there, why bother to come on here and knock someone who is?
Why is the pavement absolutely filthy in MP, but not in downtown? I would say that the person pointing out the outrageous inequity, again and again, is the person who truly loves MP, not the person trying to silence her.
BTW, Broadway near the parking garage still stinks of raw sewage. Our "leaders" have no business spending even more money on rich folk while they don't take care of important matters like sanitation. Heated sidewalks and leaking sewer pipes. Yep, that's improvement.

MC1 about the speeder was that around 11 am? My brother was bringing me home from my Dads, a guy flew past cars on broadway then went into the
oncoming traffic lane and  swerved back over, He pulled into the gas station before Veeder, then pulled out behind us so my brother went just alittle
slow so the guy was on our bumper up until the hill lol.

Today was garbage day in MP. I bet people forgot that the day switched from Friday to today because of holiday and that it has been sitting out for days, blowing around, etc. November-January is always a garbage mess in this neighborhood. No one seems able to keep track of the ever moving schedule.

there are so many neighborhoods and roads that need tending too.....trash is everywhere....and MP????????...that neighborhood went down hill a long time ago...

used to be clean and tidy years ago.....and now that the old timers are passing away and the young "welfare" crowed has taken over...you decide.

and streets near St Adelbert's church....trashed....

the city is concentrating on downtown and that's it....they don't think anyone with class may enter the city from different ways and really get the

true pic of the city....what a shame...."the city that used to light and haul the world....now hauls trash.....

Lol!

Wait until the new trash laws kick in tomorrow.

Most electronics must be recycled at a recycle center like Best Buy.

$100 fine for throwing any of the following items into your trash:

1. Computers (including laptops, desktops, tablets and e-readers)
***You should erase personal information before recycling.
2. Televisions
3. Cathode ray tubes
4. Computer peripherals (including any cable, cord, or wiring accompanying the computer peripheral.)
***Monitors, electronic keyboards, electronic mice or similar pointing devices, facsmile
machines, document scanners and printers (must weigh less than 100 lbs.)
5. Small electronic equipment (including any cable, cord, or wiring accompanying the small electronic equipment.)
***VCRs, DVRs, Portable digital music players, DVD players, Digital converter boxes, cable or
satellite receivers, electronic or video game consoles
6. Small scale servers

Find out how and where to recycle your old electronics

By Caroline Goggin
December 29, 2014 Updated Dec 29, 2014 at 7:09 PM EST

(WBNG Binghamton) One of the most popular gifts given this Christmas came in the form of a phone, a tablet, a TV or a computer. While it's out with the old and in with the new, where will you be putting those old electronics?

If you thought about putting them out on the curb, you might want to think again.

Starting Jan. 1st, the New York State Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act will go into effect. Created in 2010, this will prohibit certain types of electronic waste from going in the trash or on the curb.

"We, landfill operators and owners across the state, lobbied New York state to put a producer responsibility law in place," said commissioner of Broome County Public Works Dan Schofield.

This responsibility will apply to electronic manufacturers, such as Sony, LG and Samsung. These manufacturers must partner with haulers and distribution centers to make sure their equipment is properly disposed. In addition, haulers and small business users of the Broome County Landfill are to inform customers that electronics are banned from the trash. They should also inform customers on how to properly recycle electronic waste.

"So if your TV breaks or your computer breaks and you get a new one, you aren't going to be able to put this out on the curb," said Schofield. "This is all for the purpose of saving space in the landfill."

Equipment such as computers, televisions, DVD players, music players and gaming consoles will now be recycled with the purpose to save space, while adding to the marketplace.

Schofield said he believes this new law will create jobs for people who will pick up all the scrap electric componentry. He also added that parts of all equipment that is recycled will be reused to make products in the future.

folks are already saying that they will just dump the stuff in front of someone else's property, dump it on the side of the road, or break it apart (piece by piece) and discard a little at a time.

and if it's multi-rental property, who will pay the fine?
the property owners or the tenants?
and who can prove who's stuff belongs to who??
what a cluster fu(k!
