Cops: Toddler's death in Rotterdam is a homicide

ROTTERDAM - Town police say the death of a toddler in Septemeber has been ruled a homicide.
Autopsy results given to the police on Thursday revealed the child's death was caused by asphyxiation, the department said in a statement released Friday.
Police said they have investigated the death as a possible homicide since they were called to 4 Brookview Court, Apartment 10, on Sept. 3 and discovered the 20-month-old boy, Daniel Guevara.
Police attempted to perform cardiopulmonary resusitation on the boy. He was pronounced dead after paramedics arrived, police said.
Police said they "became suspicious of the circumstances surrounding the death and secured the scene as a crime scene."
Police said their investigation is continuing and anyone with information can contact them at 355-7397.

There was a small mention in the paper when it happened, but nothing more. |
