I don't see it as positive wishes when someone tells a bald-faced lie like "the city is improving" and then calls people names for trying to expose the truth. Just what is wrong with asking for examples, true ones, of how bullets flying in residential areas constitutes improvement?
BT, I have posted all kinds of information, over and over, of what is wrong with what you call "the system". That IS working to change the system, because someone has to contradict the misinformation, propaganda and lies in the media. The papers still print articles about real estate that don't match up with reality. It galls me how my generation has so little regard for the younger ones that we sit by and allow people like McCheese to attempt to rip them off.
Yeah, right. Woolsey Street. Bullets. Improvement. I am so glad my neighbors are getting kicked out in the street because they didn't continue to pay their "fair share" of the Renaissance.

you can post until your fingers bleed. You still won't change the 'system'!
my point is.....not ONE person/political party/collectively will take a stand on 'changing this corrupt system'......NOT ONE!!
WHY?
Cause they would never get elected....NEVER!!!
these 'truths' have been posted for YEARS....and what has it done?.....NOTHING!!!
So to Parent....I stand and applaud them for making a 'personal responsible decision'!
And let us remember that it was the reps who started this ball rolling with METROPLEX!!!
the dems just took the ball and ran with it!!

MikeChristine is a particularly ignorant dumb a**.  The FACTS remain as I stated -- BOTH of the parishes that I belong to are IN the city and .

Really?

Provide the EVIDENCE of your statement!!!!

I have provided the OFFICIAL GOVERMENT RECORDS and the TAX MAP that PROVES YOU ARE A LIAR.

Obviously you are such an ignoramus that you think the TOWN of Niskayuna is the same municipality as the CITY of Schenectady.

Little baby boy DV, not even adult enough to be independent, on his own, and self sufficient, and can't answer questions people pose to him, has to go crying to other board members.   WAAAHHHHH    WAAAAHHHHH

Gee, he posted at 4 something in the morning, must have been DV's middle of the night baby bottle.

Now, DV can you provide any details about the how the city is improving?  10 years under the dems and the tax base is falling each and every year and YOU have the NERVE to say the city is improving?    You don't have the guts to address the FACTS.  The FACTS are the falling tax base, falling home values, falling home sales, falling home sale prices, record high numbers of vacant residential units as well as record high numbers of houses up for sale---because people are fleeing the city in great numbers, homes take well over a year to sell, reductions in ESSENTIAL city services in return for paying higher axes each and every year, the second highest equalization rate in the whole state of New York, leaders who steal from the homeowners to give to Galesi and the rest of the millionaires downtown in return for kickbacks, politically connected tax deadbeats who don't lose their homes while average people are put out on the street by the city.

So you think I'm ignorant?   How?   Why?   Where is your intelligence providing proof and details to support your claim the city is improving?   Show us the numbers, show us the return the people in the city are getting for their high taxes.

You are SO IGNORANT that after 4 years you STILL have not provided one teeny weeny shred of EVIDENCE of your statement that taxes are lower now than 50 years ago.   Your inability to provide details about the taxes and my posting of evidence to contradict your statement proves that YOU are the IGNORANT one and I am the INTELLIGENT one.   Intelligent people, like myself, make statements that are 1,000% FACTUAL and present the proof of those facts.   Ignorant people, like you, make statements that are LIES because they can't provide any evidence of their claims

Quoted from Parent

I don't doubt that you want anything but good things for the city, but having a parish and having an office in the city is not the same as having you children less than a block away from the scene of what is, in reality, a drive-by shooting. It is not the same as having bullet holes in your neighbors house.

Positive wishes and hoping things improve is not good enough anymore. That will not keep my children safe.

I don't care what the government does anymore to try to fix these issues. My spouse and I have decided that we will be leaving the city of Schenectady come hell or high water. Worrying about it hurting us financially is no longer a priority. The safety of our children is.

Parent, it's TERRIBLE that you have to worry and risk losing your life savings in order to keep your children safe.   But that is EXACTLY what DV means when he says the city is improving, people should lose while the millionaires and his buddy dems at city hall get richer and laugh all the way to the bank

Hey DV, you claim the city is improving, does that mean you will buy Parent's house, AND buy it for either it's over-assessed value or the purchase price plus the percent it would have increased in value had the city not caused its value to fall when forcing Parent to pay for King Phillip's quarter of a million dollar salary, the tax money to the billionaire Galesi, Hiltons, Paul Mitchell, paying the taxes of the politically connected tax deadbeats, etc.?

DV, you wouldn't DREAM of living IN the city, not even as a renter, and that proves all your comments about the city improving is a big FAT lie

Your ignorant responses don't solve any problems.  But working TOGETHER ... WITH OTHERS ... IN the community  .. and WITH city, county and state officials DOES make a difference.

Yes, we are witnessing the success!

and the downtown business owners, who ALL live outside the city limits, are laughing all the way to the bank.

Not just laughing all the way to the bank...but telling you that you should be grateful they are accepting your money in exchange for doing business in your city.

Excuse me, Pajama Boy, I did not "claim" any such thing. McCheese is the single biggest obstacle. I have posted fact after fact with real life examples to back that up.
If bullets flying around improve a neighborhood, I'm wondering what constitutes improvement, because we have all seen what happens when decent people like parent pull up stakes. That was such a nice neighborhood. I remember a realtor telling me, ages ago, how fast houses sold in that area, there was almost a waiting list.

You and mc1 both claim " just let me and my boys run the show for a while and it will be a  brighter day .  Mccheeze and all of the Dems drink ether for breakfast ".

Everything is their fault, and it has been for the last 50 years.

Taxpayer this and taxpayer that. Well sometime nature has to take it course. The slow and stupid get eaten by the fast and smart.
Finish knocking down the rest of the houses that were only bbuilt to last a hundred years .

Learn what a quit claim deed is and muevete tu culo.

It is easy for certain "people" to whine and complain all the time.  It doesn't take much effort and certainly not much intelligence.
Is Schenectady perfect and problem free?  No. I have never said that and, in fact, have on a number of occasions said that "much work still needs to be done."   Having said that - I and many others believe that Schenectady IS improving.   We will continue to actually DO something to improve the situation and ignore the do-nothing nayboobs.
