Also, we "never" guaranteed volumes, only provided honest forecasts, (unless product is proprietary to us). In the case of products at Walmart, they may guarantee volumes on their branded products, but highly doubtful they do on all other products.
They guarantee their volume is at least double their competitors. As a supplier, I know Walmart's potential market far exceeds the next retailer. Whether they make formal guarantees, I don't know, but also highly doubt it also. |

I believe they use the double market strategy as negotiating tool, but I take exception to use of the word guarantee. For example, their market for electronics is not double Best buy; their baby department and toy departments don't have double the market of specialty retailers...at least not if they use the lower 48 market and not the global market as the measure. |

Great math.. Employees are people first...So if Walmart didn't employ them at all, these people would need LESS public assistance?? REALLY?????? |

Speaking of Price Chopper, and supermarkets selling other stuff, Price Chopper kind of led the way with that, at least they did in this area. I remember when they opened at Crosstown Plaza, Price Chopper Discount Foods, (remember when that was on the sign?) they had a full selection of magazines, health and beauty aids, even small appliances, all discounted to the same as you'd pay in a discount store like Big N or Two Guys. You could buy everything in one place. You didn't have to bother looking for this or that on sale, your total was always lower. Those were the days. I spoke with a man who lives in Latham, he used that Price Chopper all the time. He HATES the new Market Bistro, he says they no longer carry many items he went there for, and the new layout makes it harder to shop for groceries. |

Costco is a totally different business model than a retail outlet like Walmart. They can pay their employees more because they flat out don't have to hire as many employees.
Costco is a BJ's type of Warehouse store... take a look at how many employees BJ's has per square foot vs Walmart. If Walmart goes to the same model as Costco, they could pay more by laying off 50% of their employees....they plain wouldn't need them. Same goes for Mcdonalds and the other fast food joints... let the workers unionize and get more pay, and they will just automate and run fine with 1/3rd of the staff..
The math is easy but will have results that are not necessarily beneficial to all. |

and thanks to them they saved your a$$ with ACA.....AND.....as a consolation prize they will be your 'clinic MD'..... you may not buy groceries there but they will be checking your prostate....as will CVS;walgreens etc etc...... Maybe market 32 will NOT have pharmacies....I don't want to buy food where health 'checks' happen..... We will reap what we have sown......much like public bathrooms.... |

I hit the big ones near me: Costco Wholesale, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Sam’s Club to see how they compare and what they can save a regular family of four.Business Insider: The Final Analysis BJ’s: 8 wins Costco: 15 wins Sam’s Club: 13 wins I was surprised at how close the price differences were between the three membership clubs. We’re talking pennies, not dollars. So it makes the most sense to join the club most convenient to you, or that offers the extras you want. And don’t forget that though Costco won our contest, they also charge $5 more than BJ’s and $15 more than a Sam’s Club membership. http://www.businessinsider.com/sams-club-vs-costco-vs-bjs-2013-4 |

Buy local - support the small independent supermarket owners like Gabriel's or shop at the CO-OP.
As for the new name of the chain that whose name I do not speak, my first impression is that the new name implies or strongly suggests that there are 31 other markets that are better to shop at. |

Walmart is in bed with GOV ALMIGHTY....just like other low paying jobs. GOV ALMIGHTY allows the CORPORATIONS to make their gazillions....and GOV ALMIGHTY gets the campaign contributions and gives the underpaid workers GOV benefits!
This is why OBUMACARE was created....to benefit the 1%!!!!
this is corporate welfare at it's best....but wally world isn't the only corporation that gets this taxpaid benefit. |

Obamacare has done nothing for the minimum wage earner....it is more expensive than ever to have insurance ...employers do not
contribute....and in some cases workers earn a few dollars more than to be eligible.....it is an injustice ...and this government expects
that if you can't afford it...they will put a penalty in place especially if you have a refund coming....
this makes no sense and so many have no insurance at all and have to pay out of pocket or not tend to their health.....and some clinics do NOT
have a paying wage scale so that they can be treated....and afford out of pocket.....
now all the people who were in SERVICE can benefit from this OBAMACARE.......
KUDOS TO COSCO FOR THE SIMPLE SOLUTION......
