No comment on the city council races?

Hope for the residents and taxpayers in the city it is NOT Ferrari.   Though interesting, he claims he wants to get everyone to pay taxes (Gazette Oct 6) because if everyone paid the taxes would go down.   Wonder if he means that the millionaires downtown would have to pay their FULL SHARE because if the downtown property owners paid their FULL SHARE, that would mean everyone's taxes would go down.   Highly unlikely he is implying that downtown should pay taxes, he just wants the financially struggling homeowners to pay theirs even if they can't afford it, which is why they don't pay, they can't, well, except for the political cronies of Ferrari's party, e.g., Marcella, Gilmore the Metroplex architect and wife Mary Gilmore--the board of assessment appointee, the Proctor's employee with the handout from the city (no interest, no pay back schedule mortgage) who tapes the city council meetings, the former DEM councilman, the DEM co legislator (ok only one payment, maybe a mistake but if he makes such a mistake with is own finances, what does he do with the county financies?).   I see he supports the taxpayer funded city real estate business.

I see Barnes would call for an IMMEDIATE citywide reassessment.

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Taxes never go down and if they do it is your token small % during election time.   Any future surplus income or even if all homeowners paid their taxes, it would no doubt go to raises/benefits,new hires, new equipment purchases, paying off the Gen.Serv. Garage on Foster Ave.   In other words there are many holes that that added $ would fill.   Seriously doubt lowering taxes would be high on that list.   Sounds good though doesn't it?   As a talking points yes, realistically no.   Even additional revenues from the possible casino would somehow fall through the cracks for "emergencies" and the like.   Unless such additonal income was etched in stone and legislatively earmarked for tax relief, and binding for this and future administrations, it would probably be sidetracked to somewhere else as well.

I agree..
And that's exactly why I'm leaving Schenectady County as soon as it's logistically possible.
