Residential housing. Either condo's, apartments or senior housing. I've heard all three being tossed around as possibilities.

I have always agreed that there are just toooooooooooo many mfh in ROTTENdam.

however.....we were talking to an 81 year old widow who is selling her ROTTENdam home cause she just can't maintain it anymore.

She said that EVERY SINGLE mfh in ROTTENdam are full!

of course she is looking for 1st floor, for obvious reasons...and there are NONE!

she said there are a couple 2nd floor that are vacant....but that's it!!!

she looked in glenville and guilderland and NOTHING!!

she said that most....not all....of these apts are occupied by seniors! Especially the 1st floor apts..... who'd a thought, huh?

I don't know. But even tho I was opposed to all of these mfh's ...... from what I hear, they are needed.

maybe the old draper school would be an option. it would probably cost a bundle to convert it tho...and they would need elevators.

As far as I know, that is still planned. The scuttlebutt is that it hasn't gone anywhere due to environmental concerns. (The old cleaners.)

I know several people who are on the waiting list for apartments, and they've been told it may be as long as 2 years.

That's a firey question ...

the seniors put these clowns in office and there are more seniors now who are eligible..... coming.....senior housing is needed desperately....baby boomers

are next in line......

so for Senior housing.....rotterdam should build more......after all  no one over the age of 55 can afford their homes any more....

instead of 300K homes....build financially supportive apartments.....Rotterdam owes it to it's senior citizens.....

The "scuttle butt" is wrong.

yes....more to add to the already over taxed (no pun intended) sewers there......and even the school.....

do we not get it yet?

all the cheap a$$ land owners in Rotterdam are putting up sh*t to sell/rent and then they will retire to their compounds and
their kids will move out of state.....

like LOCUST.....PRICELESS

It is a matter of public record that Trustco has received permission (in 2013) to build a new bank building closer to Curry Road on the property.   As for anything else regarding this property (technically properties), no formal (nor informal) application and plan has been submitted.  One would have to ask the property owners themselves for an update.

Gee. one would think that Mr DV Know-it-all would answer questions about what the taxes are in the county, and why the city's tax base has fallen MASSIVELY since the dems have been doing downtown, and why is Marcella a tax deadbeat, etc.

DV will NOT EVER answer these questions because he knows nothing, and it's just too embarrassing to admit that his dems are causing  the city to fail, too embarrassing to admit there is no renaissance, etc.   So he pretends to ignore us and then tells LIES by making a post that he has us on ignore.

But then, do we even know whether he is telling the truth in this answer.   Took him a while to answer, maybe he had to come up with a fairy tale
