Our printer/scanner is in for some minor servicing.  If anyone can scan it (I can't find it on the gazette website).

But there is on today's opinion page an illustration which speaks the FACT about the city.

It's a homeowner and taxpayer in the city and her comments are shown.   She says the following:

"At this point, the interest on the overdue taxes I paid...............is higher than the value of the whole house."

So true.   Home values have plummeted so very much, and people have tax bills of $7,000 on houses worth only $60,000!  But of course the may is concerned about the cost of doing a citywide reassessment.   If he made the downtown millionaires and billionaires pay their FULL taxes, then the city would have some money.

If the mayor went after his tax deadbeat cronies, he would money to fund a reassessment.

Looking stuff up, it seems the interest was hiked at the council meeting of 12/26/2000.   Hmmmm, all democrat party city council.   Now that their rich political cronies are failing to pay taxes, and the political cronies are going to be the ones paying the high interest, the dem party is suggesting reducing the interest.

Just like a republican mayor (Al) proposing a trash fee and the 100% DEM city council said "absolutely not, no way" (and Stratton was one of those who said that), but then Stratton becomes mayor of the city and he proposes a trash fee saying it will be the saving grace of the city.   And his 100% dem city council fully supported it.   Since that time, the dem mayor and dem council have raised the fee how many times??????

But where is that dem guy who posted here a number of times saying the democrats actually lower taxes.  Seems he has perfected a disappearing act at a time when all the truths are coming out about the political cronies of the dems being proven to be tax deadbeats.

eminent domain through taxation

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Yeah, "eminent domain" (tax foreclosure) for the average financially struggling homeowner.

But for the political cronies, the dems don't foreclose on them.   Why not?

Like looking at the metroplex favored architect and the mayor's favored one to decided on homeowners who grieve their assessment who also runs around bragging that the city's taxpayer funded real estate business has so many contracts when the actual sales show only a fraction (obviously failed contracts)....the school tax records go back to the 2011-2012 tax year.   So these favored political cronies have not paid their school taxes for the 2011-12 school tax year, not for the 2012-13 tax year, not for the 2013-14 tax year and have not paid the first payment for the 2014-15 tax year.   Since the city refuses to publish the list of deadbeats, we cannot do the math do determine if they have paid city and county taxes, and all the fees.

So why isn't the city foreclosing on them??????    Gosh, they had two houses (one in another county), they were illegally double dipping on STAR exemption, he works as an architect, they most definitely have the income to pay their taxes.   But families in the city with total incomes of $40,000 and less are expected to pay their own taxes PLUS the taxes of Frankie & Mary, PLUS the taxes of the other deadbeat cronies, PLUS the taxes of the downtown millionaires and billionaires, and if they don't, then their homes get taken away!

The city still hasn't figured out that when a person loses their home or flees the city due to high taxes, poor school district, and high crime rate, the tax base drops with each home loss and they have to raise taxes on the rest which in turn forces more homeowners to flee the city.

Yep, the mayor, the dem city admin. the dem council, plex, county dems, they don't care about the average homeowners, they just love the money they must be getting from their rich political cronies, but these dems just don't have the brains to look ahead when all the homeowners have left.  where is the tax money going to come from?
