I'm saying it's a POLITICAL organization.  Like ISIS and the US military, whose goal is to control a geographic area.  All of which use ridiculous pretexts to justify their actions.  Be it religion, democracy, freedom, or race.

So Cissy... Does the US Military decide where they are deployed, or is that a political decision?
Do the troops vote on where they are to go next?  Or do each of them just kinda go where they want?

They give up control when they go to the recruiting office and sign a contract to become property of the Federal Government.  At that moment, they are legally obligated to deploy to wherever the President decides. I guess German soldiers deployed under the Nazi regime were victims too?

BTW...There are plenty of U.S. military veterans that VOLUTARILY joined Peshmerga.  Or as you said. "Each of them just kinda go where they want"

American veterans join Kurdish peshmerga

Joining the Peshmerga is  an option for those with military experience who want to support their cause.

What are you willing to risk your life for Cicero?
Your country?
Your city?
Your neighbors?
Your friends?
Your family?
You, yourself?

Or is the answer nothing.

Really box???  Would you be making this silly argument if the vets in the video joined a Christian militia in the US, or joined a Muslim militia in Syria because they "support their cause"?  No...You'd call them "right wing domestic terrorists" and a traitor and ISIS sympathizer deserving of extrajudicial execution.

Write me up a list of "causes" the US government permits a citizen to go outside the boarders and murder for.  Would joining the IRA for Irish Independence or joining the PLO or Hammas to fight for a Palestinian state be considered one of the noble causes a veteran could fight for?  I doubt the Wall Street Journal would do a story about veterans fighting and killing Israelis for a Palestinian state.

You assume too much.
I didn't condone these views, I merely suggested that they exist, and asked you what you might risk all for?
For your family?  Your kids?  Your neighbors?
or
As I suspect, there is no cause other than yourself.

Isil is a RELIGIOUS  organization. They  made it very clear that their motivations are grounded in faith, and their actions are directly tied to religious scripture-

they publish the specific Koran justification for their most gruesome acts, whether it is the beheading of apostates and Christians, throwing gay people off of high buildings, stoning to death women accused of adultery-

really bro ? a political organization ?

ISIS - or ISIL - Isn't the only terrorist threat. There are many others including Al Qaeda, Haqqani Network, Boko Haram and Kataib Hezbollah.

Each are AS deadly, and as much of a problem.

We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.   Funny how that works.

Ok...everything you describe that ISIS does to gays, Christians, beheadings, and stonings is the same exact thing the Saudi Arabian GOVERNMENT does.  Is Saudia Arabia a religious organization or a political system?  And if you are offended by ISIS for the punishments they impose on those that violate the Koran, are you equally offended by Saudia Arabia and do you suggest being "your brothers keeper" and start a war with Saudia Arabia to stop their persecution of Christians and gays, and their stonings and beheadings?

You don't condone those views, but you come real short of calling those fighting for rebel groups in foreign countries criminals.  Americans are, and have been prosecuted for their involvement in aiding armed resistances in foreign counties.  In most cases, going to kill people in foreign countries isn't an "option", it's a crime.

Is It Legal for Americans to Fight in Another Country’s Army?
For the most part, yes, unless they're fighting against America.

Actually, they are a government. You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise
