Just stop the flow of money going into this corrupt government!! It's just that simple!!!!
Not only do you not pay your school/property taxes...which would shut down the government and cause panic....
But make ALL or MOST of your purchases OUT OF SCHENECTADY COUNTY!!! That would put a dent in METROPLEX/GILLEN. (sales tax)

ya got the power folks....you always have!!!

Biggest problem is that the current city leaders, county leaders and Metroplex will NEVER do anything negative for their favored cronies.

But to the average homeowner the leaders say "Tough sh*t"

These good homeowners, in elections, vote against these corrupt leaders, but those opposing votes usually lose because the non-taxpaying and NON-RESIDENT downtown property owners give hefty campaign donations to the current leaders.  And also these current leaders try to give the voters the standard cheerleading message, "the city is in a renaissance" and "we are doing a wonderful job."   They will say "look at these fancy light poles, the gold ceiling at Proctors, the beautiful new buildings, etc"

But the leaders do NOT say "our tax base was X and today it has fallen to Y."   The leaders will NOT report "last year we had X number of tax foreclosures, this year the number of tax foreclosures has increased to Y."   They will NOT show the "before" photos of nice clean residential streets in neighborhoods and the "after" photos showing the SAME streets filled with dilapidated buildings.   They will NOT come out and say "home values have fallen by X%" or "5 years ago you could sell your house for $100,000 and today you can only sell your house for $50,000."  They will NOT come out and say "we have saved taxpayers money by cutting back on filling potholes, by cutting the raking of leaves in the park, by cutting back on snowplowing, etc."   Instead they say "we are making a wonderful effort at filling potholes, etc."   They will NEVER say to voters "there are no stores to shop downtown, but there are lots of gin mills which your taxes paid for."  Instead they will say "downtown is looking magnificent and there are so many places for people to go."   They will NEVER say, "Galesi is a billionaire but we are making you homeowners pay his taxes."   Theses leaders put stories in the paper that "such and such property is paying $200,000 in PILOT."  But they will NEVER NEVER NEVER say "Such and such property is paying $200,000 in PILOT, and you homeowners are paying the additional $800,000 that such and such is not paying because we gave them a tax break; oh, we never give homeowners a tax break."

Notice how their TAX DEADBEAT crony Mary Mary, at these so called press conferences at the periodic open houses spews nonsense babble saying "we have 75 houses under contract," but when you look 6 molnths down the road only 40 houses have sold in 6 months time.   The leaders will NOT provide an itemized listing of what houses are "under contract" and what houses have actually sold.   They will NOT say "here is the assessment value, here is the original asking price, here is the selling price, and the time it took for the house from list date to sale date was 2 years and 6 months."

The problem is that the good homeowners who have brains, have fled the city.   Their houses can be seen in the for sale ads, and the photos show the empty houses.

You have to wonder how much the city paid to these 1,000 or so "instagrammers" (who do NOT pay taxes) to brag that the city is wonderful.  And what's worse, they are the ones that will be voting for the two dem candidates this fall and will vote dem next year -- all because there are so many gin mills for them to go to.

Well you are admitting defeat! You are implying that there aren't enough folks with balls or brains to bring their corrupt government to their knees by not paying taxes????? Then quit your bit@hing...cause according to you....it's a useless battle.

I told you..........CHANGE THE SYSTEM.....

Wouldn't it be nice of the news media would make the major breaking story of the day be all about these politically connected cronies get overlooked for back taxes while homeowners lose.

Information can be passed to the media, the media tries to verify with the city but for sure the city will say "no comment, you will be sued to the nth degree if you report that."

How many people on here would print a few copies of some of these posts with the evidence, and pass them on to friends in the city?

Heck, where is the list of tax foreclosures for this year, they used to be published in the legal notices in the newspapers (or a full page "ad") usually in July and August.

Where are they this year?    Oh, the city doesn't want people to easily see the names of their cronies on the list

I have a friend in the local media. He said there is an awareness of the site among his colleagues, but they have dismissed this as a source of information, because, and I'll paraphrase, "the mean spirited" posts of some individuals.

When I heard that I had to find out for myself. This site does itself no good, when that type of behavior is permitted. You'll lose more views than you'll gain. I have heard that some posters here have left for that reason.

much like politics....there are ALWAYS 'mean spirited' people that we work with but we still go to work....

I'm sure those well trained media blood hounds know how to filter/dig....didn't they go to school for that?

as for posters leaving that's fine too...some people are just that thin skinned, no stomache and probably vote
the same gumbahs in all the time and prefer status quo....

I don't think the site is here for the feeble....there's a GREAT BIG WORLD out there with all types of folks and local
politics is the only 'mean spirited' as you say because it's so close to anyone who posts and it really affects them.

They take YOUR money, forcibly, and give it to the rich.
They take YOUR money, forcibly, and give it to the created patronage jobs.
They take YOUR money, forcibly, and don't even repair roads/infrastructure.
They take YOUR money, forcibly, and schools still can't graduate more than 1/2 of the students.
They take YOUR money, forcibly, and the cops get their mega bucks, while people are still being murdered in the streets.
...the list is endless.....

Doesn't that pi$$ anyone off enough to not pay taxes???????

Thank you to the politically connected tax deadbeats

Audit takes Schenectady school district to task

Friday, September 5, 2014

SCHENECTADY — The Schenectady City School District hasn’t been paying off its yearly temporary loans, costing it   ["it" meaning the TAXPAYERS]  more than $824,000 in interest and fees over the past three years, according to a state audit.
[/b]
The state Comptroller’s Office released the audit Thursday. It criticized the school district for spending much of its savings and for borrowing more than it could pay back each year.

...
School board President Cathy Lewis said the problem was that some people don’t pay their property taxes.

“Remember, we don’t get fully paid by each tax payment,” she said.

...

if you want to gather people to rip up tax bills, you should really start a Facebook page and get it circulating. Use social
media and word WILL get around.

Stop talking and take action already.
