You folks don't want to pay to have new waterlines and sewerlines put in. So look at yourself in the mirror, the next time that you are looking for someone to blame.
How can people pay for waterlines and sewerlines when people are paying GE's taxes? And paying the county taxes of the billionaires downtown?
Well, can you answer that?????
WHY would we want to pay out of our pockets a fortune for sewers when we can pay $150 every two or three years to have a septic tank pumped out? But of course as you are not, and never have been, a homeowner and taxpayer, and your comments prove it, you have no clue about the expenses involved in owning a home.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Listen....it is no secret that I loth the METROPLEX/GILLEN...or any government entity that props up the rich thru legal thievery! But how can we change it? And who has the leadership/balls to campaign on abolishing the METROPLEX/GILLEN? who has the leadership balls to campaign on dissolving ALL tax incentives allowed by METROPLEX/GILLEN? Schenectady is a sh!thole...everyone knows that. But who/how does it change?

Sadly bumblethru people would rather stew in their own supposed misery than t try to make changes. To me that's taking the easy way out.
And just to recap, I fully expect to be dust before anything is ever resolved. I just thought posing the question "what are you going to do about it?" might help to get some positive discussion going, and get the young folks here out of what appears to be 7 years of pissing and moaning on rotterdamny.info.

Rotterdam residents cannot vote for Schenectady city council people so we have no say in whether our county taxes are paying for the downtown billionaires.
The leaders in the city of Schenectady could deny these for-profit properties owned by millionaires and billionaires the tax exemption, but no, they will deny city homeowners a reduction in assessment but they will give long term and often permanent 100% tax exemptions to millionaires and billionaires.
