Seeking reasons for poor streets

Why are the street surfaces in Schenectady in such awful condition?

Seeing that very little is being done to repair them, I have come up with two possible explanations:

1) The mayor, in his infinite wisdom, has decided to subsidize the auto repair shops by not letting the city streets be repaired. These shops are then kept busy, busy, busy repairing struts, shocks, axles, springs, tires and other car parts adversely affected by the constant pounding caused by the depressions, cavities, dips and ruts in our streets.

2) Perhaps NASA has concluded that the broken and cracked street surface found in Schenectady most closely resembles that found on the surface of the moon. So in designing a new vehicle to use on the moon, NASA might want to use our streets as a testing ground.

Is there any other rational explanation for the truly awful condition of the streets we have to drive on?

But the law apparently is that if you notify the city in writing about a pothole or whatever, they you are covered for the damage.

So start writing, send then a letter certified mail, return receipt and then sue the hell out of them.

Sad that so many people in the city are being fooled by the dems into believing everything in the city is just so grand and so vote these jerks in all the time.

Intelligent people need to start going to the council meetings every week and drilling into their heads, and make sure all the public knows that things like the streets in the neighborhoods where taxpayers live are being ignored because the dems are staling from financially struggling homeowners and spending the homeowners' money on the dems' precious downtown and their multimillionaires and billionaires.

And of course the intelligent people on these boards have provided the evidence while the cheerleaders for the dems and the city spew babble but never provide a teeny weeny shred of evidence

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
