Updated: Monday, July 28 2014, 11:28 AM EDT SCHENECTADY -- Police say a woman was stabbed on Monday and her home set on fire.
Shortly after 9 a.m., authorities were called to a home at 322 Michigan Avenue for a medical call. When they arrived, they found the woman had been stabbed multiple times in the torso. While they were treating her, they discovered a fire in the attic of the home.
Officials say someone has been detained. That person is believed to be responsible for both the stabbing and the fire and investigators say the person was known to the victim.
Police have not released the identity of the suspect or the victim. They say the woman was transported to Ellis hospital for treatment, her condition is unknown at this time. |
