It seems like 10 houses for open houses this Sunday, pretty much limited to better neighborhoods.
Most making re-appearance (high light in green)
60% of houses empty - the owners have already left the city (why would they leave if there is a renaissance?): Campbell Ave, Central Pkwy, Gerling St (staged), 1079 Parkwood (staged), Teviot, and Waverly
Notes:
1923 Campbell Ave. Get the paint out. But more, it was listed for sale on 11/2/10 asking $119,000. No buyers, it was removed two years later on 11/1/13 when the asking price had dropped to $102,900. Listed again 12/2013 asking $85,000 and removed six weeks later with two price reductions down to $69,000. Still no buyers so now, going back to Realty USA who was unsuccessful in two years time trying to sell it, is back as the realtor again. Too funny. Asking price had gone down to $69,000 and no buyers, so with home values MASSIVELLY FALLING they increase the asking price to $85,000.
1500 Lexington Wierd - Listed 4/18/13 asking $249,000, price reduction 7/29/13 to $234,000 but increased the price again back to $249,900 on 8/1/13 and dropped it on 8/12/13 down to $234,900. Sounds like bad realtor, huh? Guess so, owner got rid of realtor 1/1/14, listing removed. Listed again in April by May Mary. Woeful kitchen, formica counters, non-matching appliances.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
I see in the paper there is another house added to the tour. It's 453 Gifford Rd. It's been on the tour in the past, been for sale for a couple years too. Of course, the city makes realtors lie and assign a current year MLS number, very embarrassing for the city to let prospective buyers be aware that houses sit for a year, two, or more and no one wants to buy them.
Schenectady is so deserted. People moving out. Destination Saratoga, a city where houses increase in value and taxes are more modest. Had a fabulous day at the track, and walking around afterwards with wall to wall people, Schenectady doesn't even get wall to wall people for the Christmas parade anymore. Restaurants up there have such better food and many more choices. And not at taxpayer expense either

Wonder if he's going to go welcome the new assessor and bow down to her saying "all hail another unqualified political crony in the city administration."
He could NEVER get down on even one knee (you should see him in church). He would be saying
"I bowed down and I can't get up!"
DV, how come after some four years spewing your babble about how wonderful the city is, you have NOT yet bought a house IN the city?
DV, how come after some four years spewing your babble about how wonderful the city is, you REFUSE to LIVE IN the city, even by rental????????
Proof positive that you do NOT want anything to do with living in the ghost town
