Remember the issues over the assessor, that Tina was let go because McTHIEF was lying about his requirement that department heads live IN the city (because he allows MANY to live outside of the city, even outside of the county).
Let's discuss this. A discussion needs to start out with FACTS that have been proven through EVIDENCE, right?
So there was going to be this Waterfield who works in another office that McTHIEF wanted as assessor, but he had no background in the stuff.
Well, now McThief is appointing ANOTHER UNQUALIFIED person for the job, someone with ABSOLUTELY NO BACKGROUND WHATSOEVER in real estate, appraisal stuff, etc, DOES NOT EVEN OWN A HOUSE !!!!!! Rents -- guess where -- in the Stockade, (you know, with Mary Mary Quite Contrary, King Phillip) in an apartment building owned by an absentee landlord (who lives in Florida)
So, let's discuss this -- hey DV, you are the one who claims we never discuss anything. Well, we ARE discussing. We are discussing the pros and cons of having someone be an assessor who has absolutely no background whatsoever in real estate, appraisal, etc, does not even have any experience whatsoever being the homeowner/taxpayer who can relate to the tax BILLS on assessment values that exceed the value of the house.
She is allegedly qualified because she was one of those people on McThief's "team" that was trying to "tweak" the HOMES program because houses in the city are NOT selling.
Still don't know what the "team" did to "tweak" the program, neither McThief nor anyone in the administration has state one word about what was "tweaked."
She was previously the Director of Residential Life at Union College for five years, and before that she was Assistant Director of the Upperclass Independent Areas for two years.
And the story from Union College continues when she left:

Not only had MacElroy worked on campus for seven years, she also grew up in the area and knew about Union’s reputation. During her time at Union, MacElroy stated that she enjoyed watching student transformations over the years.
“It was wonderful to get to see several classes come and go through Union and watch them grow from timid first-year students to confident, well-prepared seniors,” she expressed. “Liberal arts institutions are particularly great for students who want to get involved in everything and really provide students opportunities they might not get at other places.”
MacElroy recently received her MBA from Union Graduate College, which has led her into a new position with the Ayco Company, a Goldman-Sachs Company that provides estate planning, asset management and other services to high net-worth individuals and families.
“I knew that I wouldn’t stay at Union forever, and an opportunity came up for me to join a full-service financial firm, and I didn’t want to pass it up,” MacElroy said.
Well, well, well, she most recently serviced millionaires and billionaires. She's going to fit right in with McThief ad his rich political cronies. Don't expect her to do anything for the taxpayers. I'll bet that there will not be any reassessment in the next three years.
Another item on her history she writes herself:

Team Members: Molly MacElroy, Bryan Gallagher, Malcom Butehorn, Jae (Janet) Tracey Establish Schenectady, New York as a dynamic and vibrant city. H.O.M.E.S. serves as a catalyst for tackling blight and decay, allowing Schenectady to reinvest in itself and continue its drive to become a center of arts, education, residential and commercial growth. This program will be the blueprint for municipalities across New York and America to successfully transition from urban blight to thriving and revitalized communities
Well, that does not in any way sound like working on a program to "tweak' the HOMES program. One thing noticed in all these gala bus tours and photo ups is that the only houses they are pushing are the fancy houses. Let's discuss whether the bus tours are doing open houses for the Hamilton Hill area, Vale, Eastern Ave, Mt Pleasant (the areas right off Crane St) and the like.
Let's discuss these galas -- the vast majority of the houses are on streets that border upscale Niskayuna (quite surprised that DV is NOT buying a house nor even renting near his "employer" in Nisky).
So let's discuss - yes DV, please join us in discussing.
She has in impressive education, but NOTHING in the real estate / appraisal sector. NOTHING that is either education or experience that relates to home values, paying taxes, and the like.
And working on that project for the mayor's personal real estate business, well, how many houses are selling.
And if she is supposed to be an assessor for which she does NOT have the official certification required by the state, let's discuss how she can be appointed.
As she does not own a home and therefore does not see a tax bill with her name on it in order to have experience reading the bill, understanding the part of the bill, e.g., assessment vs market value and seeing that when home values are falling big time as they are in the city but having taxes based very old data, how can she have knowledge of what the homeowners deal with. Lack of her own experience, she cannot possibly explain tax bills to homeowners, can she?
But I guess she is more than qualified to serve the rich downtown, help them get richer by "working together" with McThief, TJ, and plex to help the rich political cronies get richer.

Wow. DV! you have something in common! Community Outreach (except you do it for people in your upscale Niskayuna church)
Well, working in a job serving the rich, and living in the Stockade and her reference to Proctors, that tells us a lot!

I believe the answer to that requires all of us board members participating in real discussion. No complaining, just let's disucss it. How about it DV, are you ready to engage in discussion?

Gee, I saw another board member participate in the discussion. Asked a LEGITIMATE question, about whether this new political crony "assessor" understands equalization rate.
A THOROUGH understanding of equalization rate is an absolute necessity for a person in the position of assessor. DV, do you believe that is a true statement?
DV, is it because you have no knowledge about the topics that is the reason you won't participate in discussion? Do you avoid discussion because your lack of knowledge prevents you from providing evidence to support what you say?
DV, do you believe this Molly person who has no background whatsoever, and is no certification to be an assessor, is qualified to be the assessor in Schenectady?
DV, do you believe the city is in need of a citywide reassessment? Why or why not? Come on, DV, are you capable of engaging in intelligent discussion and able to produce facts to support what you say?
There has been very little discussion in the past 5 or so years on this forum. ....
We are trying to discuss, we post facts, it is YOU who avoids discussion and we are simply wondering why you won't discuss. We respect all points of view, but if one wants to appear credible, one should able to produce evidence to support the facts that about which they male claims.

i hope shes a bit more personable than a few of the last ones....two out of the last three made my sh*t list instantly with their know it all attitudes
And it is noted that DV is unable to answer the question of whether it is appropriate for the city to appoint someone to the position of assessor who has absolutely no background whatsoever in appraisal, real estate, etc.
DV REFUSES to DISCUSS whether it is appropriate to appoint a person who an assessor position who merely worked in a job serving rich investors.

By the way, is there anything in the city budget that states there is a position of deputy assessor in the city? I never heard of that before. I could be wrong, but why was there no announcement of this position of deputy assessor for the city, an announcement that the person being put in that position has no background in it, and what is the salary of the incumbent?

There is no position of Deputy Assessor for the city of Schenectady in the budget !!!!!!!!.
So, how much is this woman with no background in real estate, appraisal, etc getting paid?
What is the job description of this position?
What are the qualifications for the position?
When was this job posted?
See the budget for the assessor's office for the adopted budget. WHERE does it say "deputy assessor" position ??????

What this city needs is a good cleansing -- to get rid of the dip shits (a.k.a nayboobs).
