....the neighborhoods....
Let's see if someone is willing to engage in discussion on this board as to whether the city dem leaders are ignoring the neighborhoods in favor of downtown, and what are the neighborhoods getting in return for the tax money that leaves the neighborhoods (via taxes on the homeowners) and is used to fund downtown.
Up at the camp, friends of Chris' brother and his wife were telling us they finally sold her parents' house in the Eastern Ave area; they lived in it for a while but are got bad. I had to call them to get details and what an eye opener! They used to go to that church that closed on Eastern.
They were curious how two mayors could fail to provide services and maintain accurate records. There is a house at 854 Eastern Ave that had a fire in 2002. [side note, the couple that bought the house bought it with tax money in the mid 1990's, got lots of tax money to fix it up via SHIP, the fed tax dollars administered by the city, it was called Schenectady Home Improvement Program, and griped then councilman Allen that the city's contractor did poor work and then were denied more remodeling because they were behind in taxes - thank you mayor Al for NOT giving them more tax dollars when they owners were behind in taxes]
The house had a fire in July 2002, it was later determined to be the daughter that set the fire to collect insurance money because she was behind in taxes on the house. The couple's names, the owners, were David Hughes and wife Debra Hughes. He died but not sure when, prior to 2003. She died December 2003.
Under both the mayor full of BS, and the current mayor McThief, and their dem council and dem leadership, the city has failed to tear down the house and the city has failed to keep records up to date.
Remember, the house had the fire in 2002. The guy died, and the wife died in 2003. Enter the dem administration in the city.
Here we are MORE THEN 10 YEARS LATER and the city dems have done NOTHING about this eyesore in a neighborhood. The city have not taken it down, as the owners are dead and the daughter obviously in prison for arson, and here it is 2014 and the city dems continue to listed Hughes as the owner - 10 years after the death of the surviving owner. The daughter is in state prison - at Bedford no less.
The proof that the city has FAILED to update records is proven by the official 7/1/14 city assessment roll.
See, more EVIDENCE the city dems don't care about neighborhoods, only their precious downtown and the kickbacks they get from their multimillionaire buddies
