The local news reported the cost to renovate the sign will cost $250,000.00. They said it will save energy costs. Wonder how long it will take to save the dollars that will equal the $250,000.00 investment. And if the final cost for the sign will come in at/equal to the stated cost.
As a result of this sign paid for with taxpayer dollars, the city's tax base will fall again and the tax bills will increase. And of course that will result in more houses put up for sale, more people fleeing the city, even fewer people looking to buy a house or even live in the city, more tax foreclosures, more abandoned buildings, more blight where the taxpayers live. Great return on "investment" of taxpayers' money. For shame on the greed of King Phillip, instead of him spending the money from his tax exempt for-profit business, he makes the taxpayers pay for it, what is he taking for himself to pay his underwater mortgage on his city house that no one is interested in? Audit of use of taxpayers' money? ROFL |
