DV cheers and shakes his pom poms for Proctors, let's see if he is bold enough to explain the reasoning behind removing a historic piece off a building on the national register of historic places and replacing it with an ugly modern digital sign which violates the historic architecture of a historic building.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
a question...is proctors a historic building and if it is how are they getting even local approval for the sign replacement?
Proctors was added to the National Register of Historic Places I think it was in 1979
This marquee that is not historic is being paid for by taxpayer money too!
Taxpayers have a birthright entitlement to see the approval of the historic commission, whatever national organization rules on national historic places!
Now the big cheerleader DV who claims to know and have an interest in history, maybe he can provide the answer LOL

Answer: They attach it like any other sign and it looks better than the non-historical, non-original sign that it replaced,

What a JACK a**. Digital signs are NOT historic. And since digital did not exist when Proctors was built, digital cannot look anywhere remotely like the original sign.
Do you really get an orgasm from posting things when you cheer for spending other peoples money on downtown, since you are NOT a taxpayer

Many big cities have an Orpheum Theater - they were part f a Vaudville circut. They are all much older than Prctors. I have been to the Orpheum in Memphis- guess wha ?
There was NOTHING wrong with the "old" sign, its just Proctors and PM wasting money as usual and making Proctors gaudy.
Not true -- 1) more dangerous to have someone climb a ladder to change the old sign 2) more time consuming to change the old sign (time=$) 3) ladder to change old sign blocked pedestrians on sidewalk 4) the old sign was NOT the original sign and didn't even look like the original sign
The new sign will be safer to change, take less time to change, won't disrupt pedestrian traffic while it is being changed -- and was designed to look like the original sign except that it is digital.
So stop your nonsensical whining.

I read the upgrade will cost $193,000 and from research most places only offer a 5 year warranty, 2 being most common on outdoor units which this will be, lets hope nothing happens that will be a big fix and more money down the drain.
“It will look just the same but sparkly,” said Morris.
Come on folks don't you think this will look good at proctors

1. More dangerous? Uh, please tell us how many people got killed/injured changing the words on Proctors sign these past 90 some years.....be sure to produce EVIDENCE (of course no answer)
2. It costs money for the digital sign - and it's coming out of the TAXPAYERS' POCKET, and NOT from Proctors budget !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLO, that is NOT saving money!!!!!!!!!!!! And of course it's the GREEDY King Phillip who is forcing volutneers to pay to volunteer AND THAT IS WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG, because he is so full of greed, and it is Phillip Morris who LIED on his STAR application and STOLE from the taxpayers for several years of STAR benefit and NOW he is STEALING again from the taxpayer for a sign that is NOT HISTORIC.
3. With all the construction downtown the pedestrians were FAR MORE INCONVENIENCED by not being allowed to walk on the sidewalk. AND for your information DV, the signs CAN be changed when there are the fewest pedestrians. AND the pedestrians CAN cross the street for a short time !!!!!!!!!!!! And furthermore, the complete sidewalk WAS NOT BLOCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I DEFY you to produce EVIDENCE to the contrary!!!! Of course, no answer because you have no evidence because you are WRONG
4. The sign looked very much like the old sign. Why the hell do you think they removed the "diagonal sign" ???????
DV, AS USUAL, you know nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
