The Town of Rotterdam remains under a state of emergency tonight, which was declared at 4:00 p.m., June 30, 2014. The Town had an unprecedented four (4) water main breaks in the past twenty one (21) hours. Approximately twenty thousand (20,000) residents remain without adequate water. The Town took immediate steps to repair the water main break of its twenty (20) inch water main on Princetown Road. That break has now been repaired and the Town’s highway and water department employees are now in the process of fixing the one remaining water main break on Bernard Street and Wallace Street. Water is slowly being restored through the Princetown Road water main and most, but not all residents should reach substantial pressure for necessary household activities by 6:00 a.m. tomorrow, July 1, 2014, absent any further breaks or complications.
Once water in each water tank reaches a sufficient level, the Town’s water department will be allowed to take samples of the water that will be delivered to a New York State certified water testing facility. The facility will test the water to be sure it is safe for drinking. The Town will share these results with the Schenectady County Department of Health. After another eighteen (1 hours passes, the Town will send water again to the New York State certified water testing facility and share these results with Schenectady County. After two clean test results, Schenectady County Department of Health will evaluate the results and will make the decision to rescind the boil water advisory.
Again this boil water advisory will remain in effect for zip codes 12303 (Town of Rotterdam only) and 12306. The Town will advise residents through the news media once the water is drinkable again.
Fresh drinking water is available to residents at 1410 Curry Road, the former Curry Road Shopping Center. Residents should bring their own clean, one gallon jug to be filled by town staff with drinking water. The Red Cross, New York State Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the Golub Corporation have provided limited bottled water for residents who cannot provide their own container. Residents who are homebound are advised to contact the Rotterdam Police Department for assistance at (51 355-7331.
The Town will notify news media outlets once water is full restored to normal levels and again, once the water is safe for consumption. The Town has suspended Town Code Chapter 267, Water. Once restored, residents may not use water unnecessarily. Use of water for nonessential purposes, such as lawn sprinkling, pools, etc. is strictly prohibited. Burning of any kind is strictly prohibited.

Who cares. You're not a normal resident. You don't pay water bills. We do, the cost has been tripled and look at the crap we had to put up with.

Yes, the workers deserve credit for working so hard under such difficult conditions.
It might be worth reopening the old well by the house. Then we wouldn't have to worry about any future water main breaks.

Good, go ahead, hope it runs dry and then you can experience what taxpayers experience in exchange for paying the high taxes.

Then why do you buddy dems in the city take money from the taxpayers and give it to their rich buddies downtown instead of spending in on police in the neighborhoods, where the taxpayers live??????
Oh of course, DV, don't answer that. Pretend you have us on ignore. Whenever you are proven wrong, you won't respond

Of course, it's not your money, it your two two mommies to pay for anything.
Really, who ever heard of a supposed man, or 50+ years old, who still has not left the nest? There really should be a Hollywood movie of that one.
Perhaps entitled "The 52 Year Old Boy" (actually 53 in another month, huh?) It would be a winner in an Oscar category of best comedy of the year

really? you're almost correct, except that you don't know WHY you are.

The LPDs are contracted by the City Council to preform police services and securitize the city they are hired in. This is the exchange of a local government hiring a private security firm to stabilize the local population and generate revenue for the city through tickets, arrests and recording infractions. However, this does not include upholding local laws, as the County Sheriff’s Office is elected to take charge of.
