Really?????

REALLY

Schenectady has such nice park, but the STUPID city is having  "beach party" in downtown on July 11 !!!!!!!!!!!

Where is the beach?

Walking around downtown on hard pavement. hot asphalt is NOT a normal person's idea of a beach party.   And why is New York City always hotter?   because of the heat given off by the buildings.

Schenectady may not have a huge beach within it's boundaries, but the city should skip these downtown parties in the summer and have the festivals in Central Park as in the days previous to when  the BS mayor outlawed these events (except little ones).

A beach party should be near water, there are two lakes in the park and a place to put a beach ball.  No need to spend money on tents, there are free tents there, under the trees.  Rather than the financially struggling homeowners having to pay for downtown to rent tables, there are plenty of picnic tables in Central park.

At a beach party, people put beach towels down on the ground.  Who is going to lay a beach towel down on the hard pavement in downtown?

NO ONE

But EVERYONE to can sit down on the ground can put beach towels and blankets down on the nice soft ground at the park and enjoy and not get sunburn poisoning.

A beach party, you think of water to cool  you down on a hot day.  There is NOTHING about downtown that would EVER in a million years make people think of being at a beach if you are downtown.

But what's the use in saying this.  The city gives steals from the homeowners to give money to their multimillionaire cronies downtown and then they expect the city leaders try to get the tax exempt gin mills to derive more money from putting all the city events down there instead of in the nice, cool, soothing park

I miss Tuesday in the park. It would be so nice to have the park cleaned up, some music, vendors, the fireworks again.  A summer block party down town isn't a horrible idea, but come on! Use the park again!!!

having a beach party downtown is like having a beach party in elementary school when the kids were little....

Central park is NOT downtown!!!

If folks go downtown....the business have a better chance to make some $$$.

Not so if it was in Central park!

EVERYTHING will be centered around downtown.....NOWHERE else!!!

Have you seen the gene pool in Schenectady?  I can only imagine the people that will be wearing bikini tops and short shorts, that have no business wearing bikini tops and short shorts.

Far better to attend the MP Festa on Friday and do something to benefit a church than to go downtown and do something to benefit the millionaires

Have to admit it was a good time. Very loud, but fun. Lots of small vendors to buy from. A small sand area, but the kids all seemed to enjoy it. Lots if music, food and some fireworks. Nice community event, ran into people I hadn't seen in years.

Loads of people of all ages came to Downtown for a WONDERFUL, FUN-FILLED event.  It was great event to celebrate the RENAISSANCE of the City-County of Schenectady.
