How about a house that has been listed for sale since April 30, 2011 - YES A WHOPPING THREE YEARS and no one interested in buying it.  

-  Not the high paid state employees working downtown
-  Not the high paid union employees working at GE
-  Not the even higher paid white collar employees working at GE
-  Not even any of the high paid doctors at hospitals in Schdy
-  Not any of those high paid employees at KAPL
-  None of the high paid professors at Union College
-  Not even the high paid city department heads who are living outside of the cixty
-  Not even David Buicko (Galesi's taxpayers subsidized local CEO)


LOOK!   Not even the mayor's HOMES program could be successful in selling the house!

LOOK!   Councilman Erickson's former house is now available for rent .   Oh, notice, its "not set up for Section 8"   Gee, discrimination d'ya think?    







Any adult aged men looking to leave the nest?

set up for Sect 8.....now that's a plain discriminatory statement....isn't that saying all who are in the lower income bracket....don't apply.....or maybe

I would guess that a house like this far exceeds Section 8's requirements for whatever they inspect apartments for.  Women with children should go there an inquire and tell the landlord that they can help him with getting set up with Sect 8

99% chance that NO ONE will rent, not for $2,000 a month.

Figure these FACTS

His last asking price was $209.000.  A buyer comes along and makes an offer of $200,000.  The buyer pays 20% down.  Buyer takes out a mortgage for $160,000 for 30 years at 4%.  The monthly payment for that would be about $765 a month.  The taxes are roughly about $9,000 and apply that over the 12 months is about $750 per month.  

IF it sold for $200,000, the buyer would pay about $1,500 a month.  Now WHO would be wiling to spend $2,000 a month to rent, thus meaning they never gain any equity in the house.

The house was listed for three years, buyer could have paid $1,500 a month for mortgage plus taxes, yet after three years:

-  Not the high paid state employees working downtown
-  Not the high paid union employees working at GE

-  Not even any of the high paid doctors at hospitals in Schdy

besides their grand cars...and that's not a joke....some live where they can sponge off their women for free.....

Assessed value = $181,000

Full market value = $167,963

Taxes are roughly $8,000/year for city/county/school taxes.

Almost at the cutoff point where you can get your selling price by not paying taxes and renting until foreclosure.

4 Years of taxes = $32,000

Plus 4 years of rent = $96,000

That's $128,000 if they take it after 4 years.

If you make it 5 years before the city takes ownership you will net $160,000.

Every time they raise taxes they make it more profitable to stop paying taxes and rent until the property is taken.

There is some financial sense to that.

However, since no one is willing to buy it and pay $1,500 a month (prin, interest, and taxes), who would be willing to pay $500 more for rent?

But then, how about "rent to own"
