This might sound exciting. This I guess is not so much a question of the casino because I guess we learn about it tomorrow but how can we hear about if we have something to say we have to be in two places at the same time because one meeting is at city hall to learn about it and then a hearing at the county building. That is frustrating.

It is a City Council commitee meeting Mon. @5:30. Public is not allowed to comment. But the County Leg. Mtg. allows you to air your comments on Mon. in regard to the proposed casino. If you wish to comment,pro/con go to the County Leg. Mtg. on Mon.

But see, the city and county are in cahoots with each other.
You cannot have your questions answered at the city council meeting because asking questions is outlawed. The room is much too small for people to fit in anyway.
There is absolutely no meeting being held in a location large enough for large numbers of people to ask questions - proof positive the dems do NOT want people asking questions.
Common sense that you can't really comment at a public hearing because you don't know what the plan is.
Now figure this. You have to go find a parking place downtown IF you wanted to go to the small room at the city council meeting. The presentation may not even be done before the county public hearing, because this is a regular city council committee meeting, so they will be conducting normal business and perhaps at 6:00 pm the presentation, oh, but then you need to leave to walk to some parking lot to then drive up to the county building and try to find another parking spot in order to get there early enough to sign in to speak etc.
Bu how do you speak at public hearing without having the facts
No informational meeting in large enough location for the public means lack of ability to speak intelligently. People who are generally opposed to gambling might speak on that.
But the dems are TOTALLY SILENT (just like DV, hmmmm) REFUSING to provide details.
Imagine the whole property there (all properties) having an assessed value of $500 million. But as it is Galesi owned and the dem leadership in the city/county/plex totally exempts Galesi from paying taxes, just do the math. Currently the total tax rate per thousand is roughly $42. Do the math to determine how much the total tax bill on an assessment of $500 million would be and divide that up by 20,000 parcels in the city (though some adjustment because county taxes are spread among the whole county.)
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
This will (if it hasn't already') get the 'green light'.....imho
The 'public comment' will just be a token meeting.
It will be interesting to see how many folks show up in opposition.
If history repeats itself.....there won't be enough....imho

I tend to think few will show up. They will think this is good, but they don't know the FACTS that the property will all be tax exempt and they will have to make up the difference in taxes.

The County meeting is a dog and pony show like the recent joke TJ Hooker road shows. Only DEM morons and paid hacks showed up. It proves once again that Metrograft has no real plan for ALCO. Last November it was movie making now casino. It's a toxic waste site suitable only for heavy industry not more pie in the sky. East Greenbush will get the area casino. Schenectady County needs the revenue because Metrograft has been a total flop at sales tax creation and supporting tanking resale values. We need blue collar jobs not more minimum wage tip based popcorn jobs.
Listen to that Buicko jackass from Galesi who is bragging, saying how great Schenectady is. Of course, handouts from the homeowners in the city.
Buicko HATES the city so much he REFUSES to live in the ghost town city, REFUSES to even live in the county from which he his gaining his fat taxpayer funded salary.
Sound finally came on.
Erickson asks about the taxes it will bring to the city. They don't have an answer, they ONLY answer what the state's estimate is, generally (NOT specific to the city)
They LIE LIE LIE (just like DV), because there was something (when the sound was off) in the screen display mentioning "real estate taxes paid."
ROFL.
Don't these jack asses know that the place is 100% tax exempt, they are not going to own it and pay taxes, Galesi will rent to them, collect big bucks, take the money and run while the city/co/plex dems get their kickbacks. No taxes paid!
And then they have the nerve to compare themselves to some place sin other cities.
Des Moines Iowa - population 203,433 Pittsburg PA, - population 306,211 Philadelphia, PA - population - a whopping 1.5 MILLION
Schenectady, population a paltry 66,135, and high poverty
And notice the dems REFUSED to allow questions form the people. So HOW to people get answers? There is provision for the council president to allow questions from attendees. But NOPE, the dems do NOT want people to ask about the tax grab and the REFUSAL of the billionaire Galesi to pay taxes

like we need more taxed misery here...the council members all live way beyond most city residents so it will be no big deal to have a tax increase for them...
