Today's gazette mentions this.

The city doesn't know what it has, and an audit firm state that having an inventory is a BASIC part of financial management.

My gosh, one does not even need ANY education in finances, accounting, etc to know that in order to know what your financial picture is you MUST have an inventory of what you have.

But the city's finance director claims the city doesn't have the money to do an inventory !!!!!!!!!!!!!!    DUH, how about they FULLLY tax their millionaire and billionaire friends and they may have the money.   How about the city STOP WASTING money on stupid fancy lighposts --- they are not necessary in the least but an inventory of all city property is CRITICALLY NECESSARY.

The city has one hell of a STUPID finance director.

The inventory is supposed to apply to everything from properties, vehicles, tools, office supplies, etc.     Does the city even know what houses it owns?

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Oh I see.   So this way if something disappears or is "lost" there is no need for accountability of said item because it was never there.
