Weaver Street in Schenectady to be closed for several weeks

SCHENECTADY — Weaver Street will be closed for several weeks beginning today, city officials said.

City workers will be installing a new storm culvert.

Those trying to reach the city’s Waste Transfer Station will be allowed to enter from Edison Avenue. Customers of Eric’s Auto Repair can reach the business via Broadway.

Very important fix...NOT.  I would bet my life the new culvert does nothing and it still floods.  I dont understand the big issue.  If it floods go down Edison Ave....

Broadway and 890 is backed up every day due to the detour.

It's probably construction of the constitution pipe line,I thought the taxpayers would have a say in this!

I just drove down Weaver St and it does appear to be a pipeline.

The pipe was around 3 feet in diameter and I could not see the ends of it.

It sits on a mountain of gravel just below then bottom of the overpass.

Construction crew working on weaver finished installing the new line under the road, that pipe seen is just a temp bypass from ng so they could bury a line on their prop and some cleanup. Nat grid taking longer than they expected to finish on their end so the road will be blocked till they finish. Issues with bonding the bypass pipe due to cold weather was the biggest set back a couple months back but no excuse now.

The westbound crosstown ramp will be closing right after Weaver St opens.
