What would your life be like if there never were any US Troops Cicero?
Would you still have the same freedoms?
Would you be speaking English, or French or German or Japanese or Spanish???
Would your US Constitutional Rights be just words on a piece of paper?

You act as if US troops are YOUR ENEMY.  Do you realize how out of the norm your
views are?

You mean, what would my life be like if there was no paid standing Army?  Probably similar to the 1776, where each state asked for volunteers to fight in the Continental Army to fight the world's military superpower of its time - the British.  They didn't invade Britian, they defended America.  Wild concept of national defense.

Would I be speaking French, Spanish, German, or Japanese?  I don't know, Germany, Japan and Italy were defeated by the allies, are they speaking English or Russian now?

The Constitution is just words on paper.

Yes, I understand my views are not the "norm".   Abolishing slavery wasn't the norm either, neither was opposition to the crown.

Oh no Cicero!!!  You really aren't that naive are you???
I keep telling you to READ A F'N HISTORY BOOK!
Where would your little band of Militia be without the FRENCH
in our revolution??

"In the American Revolutionary War  France fought alongside the United States, against
Britain, from 1778. French money, munitions, soldiers and naval forces proved essential
to America's victory over the Crown.
After the American victory at Saratoga,  France recognized the United States of America
as a sovereign nation, signed a military alliance, went to war with Britain, built coalitions
with the Netherlands and Spain that kept Britain without a significant ally of its own,
provided the Americans with grants, arms and loans, sent a combat army to serve under
George Washington, and sent a navy that prevented the second British army from escaping
from Yorktown in 1781.
In all, the French spent about 1.3 billion livres (in modern currency, approximately thirteen
billion U.S. dollars) to support the Americans directly, not including the money it spent
fighting Britain on land and sea outside the U.S"

Cicero... Did you actually think that your 'farmers with muskets' beat a well trained Super Power
standing army, a world class navy and financed it all on credit???

Again Cicero... your naivety on how the world actually operates is astounding!

every human is used to the prevailing 'truth' of their existence and the forces that affect them....

in other words if Hitler won this generation wouldn't have known differently...we can spend all day saying "if we didn't
do this/that, kill, hurt, take over, police, trade etc etc etc.. then you wouldn't have blah blah blah blah etc"

again, if pluto remained a planet and not a rock what would have happened to truth for the next generation?

US troops are not enemies in and of themselves...remember humans are a commodity whether they get their paycheck
from going to some 'war' or correct tests in a public school or fix your plumbing etc etc....

not heros...commodities for political exploitation and fodder.....

Exclusive: Texas VA Run Like a ‘Crime Syndicate,’ Whistleblower Says

For years, employees at a Texas VA complained that their bosses were cooking the books. For years, the VA insisted there was no widespread wrongdoing.

Last week, President Obama pledged to address allegations of corruption and dangerous inefficiencies in the veterans’ health-care system. But before the president could deliver on his pledge, the scandal has spread even further. New whistleblower testimony and internal documents implicate an award-winning VA hospital in Texas in widespread wrongdoing—and what appears to be systemic fraud.

Emails and VA memos obtained exclusively by The Daily Beast provide what is among the most comprehensive accounts yet of how high-level VA hospital employees conspired to game the system. It shows not only how they manipulated hospital wait lists but why—to cover up the weeks and months veterans spent waiting for needed medical care. If those lag times had been revealed, it would have threatened the executives’ bonus pay.

What’s worse, the documents show the wrongdoing going unpunished for years, even after it was repeatedly reported to local and national VA authorities. That indicates a new troubling angle to the VA scandal: that the much touted investigations may be incapable of finding violations that are hiding in plain sight.

Thanks Obama!

Now that VA Secretary has resigned, Obama and Biden should resign in disgrace for allowing our veterans to be mistreated so badly and completely ignoring it for 5 years.

this didn't just happen with this president....sure, they each have a responsibility....but what we are failing to see is
the overload of patients into a downsized system...which indicates MORE WAR IS AMONG US....

Then you might as well tell all of Congress to resign too, since they too knew about this as well.

Obama and Biden are in charge now and should bear the responsibility for this outrageous scandal.

Yes, prior to 2008, the VA was a class A medical system.  All that is needed is a new administrator and the VA will return to its status as the crown jewel of medicine.  With a republican president it could rank with the best in the world.
