If you are an atheist AND a Libertarian, you are doubly mistaken and misinformed.

Moses wasn't commanded by God to kill the Canaanites?

BTW, I'm not atheist or libertarian.

I was the only person on this thread that mentioned atheism.

He killed the Canaanites - God's orders.

I thought you didn't believe in a "bible"?  You sure know how to pick and choose

When cancer plagues the body, the affected area’s has to be cut off otherwise the sickness will spread and destroy the whole body. Likewise, God in His mercy was protecting Israel from those evil nations that threatened the righteous existence. Also, the same Law that forbids murder permits killing in self-defense

We are advised NOT to judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.   Funny how that works.

Self defense?  Joshua invaded Canaan.  The Canaanites were defending themselves from the invading Israelites.

Never said I "believe" in the bible, but I have a general understanding of it.

a "general understanding" .. no wonder you're picking a choosing which parts you want to believe  and take literally.

Unlike you, I don't care who does or does not believe in God.

You are the town idiot making statements that can never be proven.

You made the statement that atheists are wrong and uninformed/misguided.

I said present your proof.

Your proof was "Libertarians and atheists are both wrong/uninformed.

I asked for a logical justification to substantiate your accusations.

You ignored it and made another totally unprovable statement.

You should sue Sienna for brain damage.

I could pick other examples...I just thought this one was easiest to contrast DVOR's post that God determines morality.  God allegedly commanded that the Canaanite's be exterminated from their land.

Are the parts of the bible I pick the same parts you ignore?  Sounds like you practice the same picking and choosing.

Well you weren't the only person who responded to my statement.  But if it makes you feel any better than I still think that you are mistaken and misinformed regardless of your religious beliefs.

I do not pick and choose ANY parts of my faith / religion.  I take things in context and attempt to take bits and pieces that best suit my agenda, unlike others.

Didn't say that.  Morality has to do with how one ACTS not how one thinks or believes.  Those that don't believe in God are sadly uninformed and/or mistaken. However, they can still act morally.

who decides if you are moral? moral is perception...however, having said that, as long as you keep to yourself and
do no harm to others. The issue with today is that everyone/thing else is responsible for your 'bad' choices because
according to our 'elected leaders', we're too stupid to understand that ingesting chemicals is bad for us...and that's
only one choice we make. We then turn around and blame big corp/capitalism because we have too many choices and
have left the land of which we were born to rule and gave it over to the choices of the masses with a few at the top in
charge of telling us what is 'good'.

yes, religion has NOTHING to do with morality, a god is a god is a god is a god........................socialism...

team work is a good thing, asking permission for liberty for one's self is a very very dangerous precedent.

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
