Drive through Ballston Spa or Saratoga? They actually have retail. Gloversville has a Downtown food coop. No retail Downtown let alone a food market. For that residents must drive over the bridge to Gabriel's in Scotia. Since $100 MILLION has been dumped Downtown by taxpayers paying the regressive sales tax on facades and curbs I would hope it
looked better. Did you drive to lower State? What doesn't look better is the flat County sales rate and the City property resale rates the 2 things that Metrograft was created to
improve. An economic development czar handing out tax breaks to the friends and family club will never work.

You are so full of sh*t -- it is seeping out your ears.  Saratoga County is the poster child for receiving tax breaks and for "club mentality."

Saratoga County is one of the biggest recipients of STATE tax payer dollars to fund their economy ---- starting from the hundreds of millions spent to prop up the two race tracks, the millions of dollars of member items that Joe Bruno and Hugh "triple dipper" Farley shoveled into the county,  STATE POLICE patroling the towns because they are too cheap to pay for their own police departments --- and don't forget the over $1 billion spent by New York on the Luther Forest project.

Oh -- and yet -- there are still vacant commercial buildings in Saratoga County, still poverty, still drugs and all the other social problems.
