Wonder what the cops would do if they saw one of the many stray pit bulls that walk the streets on Crane?

paranoid fantasy - talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Kaz was allowed to sell drugs by the PD?  It's difficult to debate something with someone who simply manufactures facts to fit his theories.  There was no evidence he was involved in drug trade until after he left PD.  And, if you think anyone at PD would protect him - your delusional.  He was extremely unpopular with the rank and file and particularly the union.  No one would have shielded him from anything. When he took the fall, the vast majority at SPD were glad to see it happen.

As long as the drug is illegal, it will precipitate violence.  That is the main reason why neighbors call the police and complain about those locations. On Schenectady Street, it was so bad that parents were keeping their kids on the porch and not allowing them to play in the area adjacent their houses - because the corner was plagued with pot dealing. And, you should talk to poor minorities and ask how they feel about those drug locations.  They complain about the drug selling because it is their quality of life that is negatively impacted.  And,when the drug trade turns to violence - it is minorities who suffer. Your paternalistic attitude that you have to protect minorities is fueled with ignorance about the reality of life in  those neighborhoods. Ignore the calls from minorities to addresss drug houses and open air drug markets - libertarian knows best what they need.

Job security - as if the police need raids on pot locations to ensure job security.  There are much more serious problems the police would like to focus their attention but can't because of the need to address the complaints form neighbors. Most cops could care less if people smoked pot inside their homes and didn't involve anyone else. Most in law enforcement appreciate their role in targeting illegal drugs - they will never be eradicated. Rather law enforcement role is to minimize the negative impact the drug trade has on citizens and the community who do not want to involved in it.  It's an externality approach.

War on terror was precipitated by 11 lunatics flying a plane into the Twin Towers - or did you miss that?

Ok, Kaz was allowed to run drugs because the SPD is incompetent.  I was giving the SPD officers the benefit of the doubt that they were competent and turned a blind eye to protect their career and reputation of the department.

Collectivist statists know what is good for everybody else and punish those that harm nobody.

War on terror was predicated by 11 lunatics, and the US government responded by sending over 100k of American lunatics to kill tens of thousands of people in Iraq and Afghanistan that had nothing to do with the 11 lunatics.

Enforcement precipitates the violence.

Perhaps you missed the part when you(the government/enforcement)proclaimed life imprisonment for drugs.

The obvious opposite reaction to this was the need for guns to keep from having their lives taken.

That was the single biggest failure of the government in the war on drugs.

It took a drug use problem and escalated it into an actual war with guns and violence.

Minorities are targeted.

While most drug users are white.

maybe just maybe....when arrested...make bail high.....if they can catch them.....slick operators.....they beat the system and the system is not working

with government having priorities in another direction......eg., money to foreign countries when this country has poverty and issues with jobs, wages...

complex problem...but can be solved IF leadership was focused on AMERICA....foreign policy is ok but not near the bottom of the list..

the government is not interested in solving OUR problems.....

doesn't do anything to talk and talk......voting is not on my agenda ......they are all alike....not an honest person among them....and HC is at the top of that list

There's been a rise in police activity on Crane ave the last few weeks.

Friday Afternoons, Police can be seen walking the avenue.

I guess they finally found out that drugs can be purchased at any "foreign" run stores on the street.

Drugs are available at these fine retailers:

Mr. Discount
Chubbys
American Deli (next to family dollar)
Adam Deli

Sorry but this is just the tip of the iceberg!!!
If law enforcement REALLY thinks and believes that drug deals are made out of corner businesses alone....then I have a bridge to no where to sell them!!!
They are sold out of homes.
...did ya ever see anyone 'shake hands at the mall or in the super market!!
It's EVERYWHERE!
There is a huge demand and a supply that meets the demand!
But hey........there is always proctors!
I mean come on here!!!
