Schenectady IS going through a major transformation.

EVIDENCE that it is becoming one big ghost town!

All posters are welcome to add to this.   This is just tiny small sample.

Proof of how bad it's getting.

Is it a negative image?   YES, Of course it is.

Because it's negative, it is essential to acknowledge it and do something about it.

To do something about it means STOP the WASTEFUL UNNCESSARY spending on downtown, STOP the dems from giving the taxpayers' money to their millionaire political cronies.   Go ahead, print this page out.  Pass it around.

Get the word out to people to demand the city/county/plex leaders REMOVE ALL property and school TAX EXEMPTIONS from all the metroplex projects.  Further, REMOVE the so called 'not for profit" status of the high class Key Hall bankquet hall and remove the so called not for profit status of the big for profit Broadway like theater!

The EVIDENCE of the past 10 years of wild uncontrolled spending on downtown had resulted in blight spreading like wildfire in the city, and images like these are multiplying faster than fleas on a dog.

Taxes and fees are progressively going up.
Home values are progressively declining.
Crime is progressively going up.
Blight is progressively increasing.
Welfare recipients are progressively increasing.
Bed bugs are progressively multiplying.
The 'friends and family' club are progressively getting richer.
...............and the list goes on...............BUT THERE IS PROGRESS!

They are randomly selected images of buildings that are vacant, thus proving there is a great deal of progress in the city under the dems, progress toward creating a ghost town in the city.

Everyone is invited to post images of properties, whether saving pictures or inserting links to websites such as for sale things, etc.

Anyone know where we can find a list of the houses completed by Habitat for Humanity?  They said they did 40 houses over the last 20 years.  Interested on how they are holding up.....

.

It's one thing what they are assessed for on the tax roll which, based on the equalization rate will, the assessment roll will show what the city claims the full market value of the houses are today.

But then what they REALLY would sell for if sold on the open market in an arms length transaction would be a whole different thing, that amount would be much lower in most cases

I don't know what investment was made by taxpayers and Habitat over this time but I have to say the results are pretty impressive and these dont result in PILOTS.  2006 yo 2012 the tax roll additions are over $2,000,000.    Anyone know the budget and particularly CDBG moneys for these years.  I am going to look now.
