Anyone that paid the Rotterdam "Leaf Collection Fee" should have a nice white paint mark on the street in front of your home by now.  That way, everyone will know where to dump their leaves, since there's no fines or planned enforcement if you put your debris on someone elses property.

Personally, I'm going to do a mailing to everyone with a white mark on the street, I've got a great deal on "Rotterdam Leaf Bags" - everyone will want them!

Well, I paid the "fee" - and there's a white mark in front of my house.  One of only THREE on the street.  I'll have to look into it.

I believe you have that wrong.  The square means that the property owner is an independent spirit who takes care of their own yard waste rather than insisting that the town provide free-of-charge an unnecessary service.

I just called the town highway department and I in fact, did have it reversed.  The white mark indicates "opt-out" - no pickup.

Thank you for pointing out my error exit3

DV. HOW can you be such a big IGNORAMUS to claim that the yard waste pick up was provided "free of charge"   It was paid for through our taxes.

Bu then, you are not and NEVER have been a taxpayer, your names is NOT on ANY tax roll, and you do NOT and heave NEVER written out a check to the town to taxes.

We have paid for YEARS THROUGH OUR TAXES.

You and don't even know what it's like to operate a lawnmower!   You probably don't even know the difference between a lawnmower and a snowblower

I've never used leaf pick-up. I compost all my leaves and when they've rotted enough I  just till them into my vegetable garden. Leaves make great mulch and add a lot of nutrients to the soil.

along byways roadways and such....see many leaf bags on lawns...have not noticed any white markings yet....

many residents are supporting the raises by bagging their leaves and paying a fee........now that makes sense doesn't it???????????

We have always used a mulching mowers.  We also compost and even use a chipper shredder to clean up branches and twigs.   We have NEVER used town brush/yardwaste pick up and never intend to.

I hope that 'fee' will pay for the workers to clean out the storm drains of leaves......oh wait, no, that will just be another
