You do know the VA debacle was not National issue, right. VA in NY is one of the best nationwide and they have no reported issues as those reported earlier. Only saying, you can't lump the all together because of a few. Oh, by the way, you know that the issues reported were present in previous administrations too, right??? They just didn't come to light (or someone covered them up)! |

There are some things the VA in NY can handle and some they can not. For example. heart valve replacement... My father-in-law was going to go the the VA hospital to get it done. His GP told him that would be last place in the area he would go to if were him. He ended up a Albany Med. |

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs is a federal agency. That's like saying the FBI in NY are better investigators than the FBI in Florida. |

Same holds true for all Hospitals. Specializations are the focus of many hospitals, and as such they attract the most talented physicians and are the best at their specialty, like heart operations. You would always look for where the best care for that specific issue would be...Albany Med might be a better choice than Ellis, for example. So even if your GP is affiliated with Ellis, you still would be better to go to Albany Med for the procedure. |

The VA hospital in Albany is a glorified health center much like CHP was back in the day...it is just about scraping the the bottom of the barrel locally. The Hospitals I can compare it to are now defunct.. Leonard Hospital in Troy and Cohoes Hospital... |

What states gained the most by passing OBAMACARE??? Why Rand Paul's Home State of Kentucky! (After the Democrats in Kentucky joined ObamaCare) Which states have the highest rates of uninsured? (Red States of course!) I wonder if Candidate Rand Paul will promise to get rid of Evil ObamaCare if elected President? |

Yes, he will. He will get rid of a federal MANDATE to buy an insurance product, giving billions to the insurance industry.
Box, you are mixing his message of federalism and federally mandated medical insurance that benefit corporate insurance companies. If states want to force their residents to purchase a product, then states can do that. You are reading into the increase in insured people without mentioning people are FORCED to purchase it or face getting fined. |

If you don't want to buy insurance, then don't. But you will have to pay for the price you will put on the rest of society for health care costs when you are severely sick or injured without insurance. I guess Cissy wants the rest of us to pay his way. |

No, box...You just provided evidence that much of the newly insured is on Medicaid. Who's paying the price for the cost of those on Medicaid? Since you are so concerned about who is picking up whose cost on "society". I guess box wants to FORCE me to pay MORE for my medical insurance, or get fined, so others can pay less or nothing. C'mon box, tell everybody that it's their duty to work harder to pay higher premiums for medical insurance, because you decided that somebody else is entitled to subsidized, free medical insurance. Box, I'm surprised you are concerned about "society" paying for other people's medical care, when Obamacare is designed to do exactly that. |
