Schenectady has some nice older houses. Many people like older house. For those that do, this house would be a dream.
It has been for sale since October 2012. That is a WHOPPING 2 and half years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The house was the mayor's featured home on his gala bus tour back in November.!!!!!
Almost 5 months later and this house, which the city claims would sell for $182,000 was listed in 2012 with an asking price of just $149,000
Now, 2.5 years later, and four price reductions and being a house the mayor himself touted as this wonderful deal of a house in the city....
The price has AGAIN BEEN REDUCED...... $down to $107,000 (remember, the city claims it would sell for $182,000) STILL NO TAKERS.
Even mcc's political crony Prudential girlfriend which he swindled to put her on the Board of Assessment (to help prevent reductions) has been unable to sell the house (it's listed by Prudential)
Wonder if HGTV might be successful????
Perhaps it's time the mayor boards it up before the vagrants start getting in there
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
There are some nice 'looking' homes in the city.............HOWEVER........taxes is the first scare....next is crime......and for families, it's schools. NOW we can add the pathetic road conditions!!!!!!!

But ya know, some say the city is in a renaissance but avoid addressing the evidence that proves it is not so.
I'm wondering if this house will even sell for $82,000 ($100,000 less the city has it assessed for).
You'd think that the owner would grieve the assessment because it would be a guaranteed win at SCAR or certiorari. I would really think it would be a guaranteed win at the Board of Assessment too, but not when McC and his dems must have directed the board members to deny every grievance.
If the owner grieved, and won, that would lower the taxes -- for a while -- until the city does reassess downward at which time the tax BILL would go back up again.
