Rifle & Pistol Association President Thomas King to skip Albany gun rally:
"I don't want to be a party to anything that may happen"

'We do not make threats, we do not tell people to prepare for war nor do
we sell bumper stickers that proclaim 'BALLOTS or BULLETS.' King wrote
as he distanced himself from the GunHugger Crazies Rally in Albany.

ALBANY - The head of New York's largest firearms organization is skipping a
planned Tuesday Capitol protest of the state's tougher gun control laws enacted
last year, saying he fears the rhetoric at such gatherings is becoming more
"contentious and threatening."

Thomas King, a national NRA board member and president of the state Rifle & Pistol
Association, argues that the angry and inflammatory rhetoric only hurts the cause
of gun lovers.

"Let all these other groups go out and do what they want to do, because they don't
want to listen anyway," he told the Daily News. "I just don't want to be a party to
anything that may happen."

You won't change people's minds, he wrote, by "screaming obscenities at Cuomo and
certainly at large rallies where people stand on stage, pound their chest and tell the
attendees to prepare for war.

"That frightens the very people we want to attract to our side."

On March 26th the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association (NYSRPA) announced that New York State Police had decided not to enforce "a capricious, ill-conceived and unconstitutional portion of the NY SAFE act"--the seven round magazine limit.

According to Guns.com, the decision follows a federal judge's ruling in December which ruled the seven-round magazine limitation was "'tenuous, straitened, and unsupported,' and therefore unconstitutional."

This puts New York State Police in line with the "sensible path taken by the New York Sheriffs' Association and many local law enforcement agencies in not enforcing" the magazine capacity limit.

Who Attended Today's GunHugger Rally???

NRA Board Member King wrote:
Tuesday's rally will include people who are pushing other issues like hydrofracking,
anti-abortion, and land owner rights.

"All worthy issues, but not 2nd Amendment issues, we are a single issue advocacy
group and our message becomes compromised with these other groups included."

Guess Who Was At The GunHugger Rally???
Melbourne Sann!

Melbourne Sann, 51, of upstate Rome, walked through the crowd dressed as a patriot
and holding a large Cuomo puppet that was dangling from a tree branch emblazoned
with the words “United Nations” and “New World Order” on its limbs.
Just your typical Gun Nut Conspiracy TeaBagger!!! The rally was full of em!

“I do it every chance I can get - before we have to come down here with regular weapons,”
Sann said about appearing at protests.

Sann also floated the bizarre theory that... (Wait till ya hear this one)...
the Sandy Hook  was a hoax designed to stoke anti-gun sentiment.
“This whole law was written on the backs of children who didn't die,” he said

(See... Just your typical TeaBaggin GunHugger)  Pathetic!

Melbourne Sann of Rome, N.Y. spanks a lifesize puppet of Gov. Cuomo with a mock rifle.
The mock weapon, which was carved from plywood, was later confiscated by police.

Looks like it was a success with state police now coming out saying they won't enforce the magazine limit, it is only a matter of time before the safe act is fully repealed. Once that takes place maybe our representatives might actually ask us about some common sense approaches most everyone can agree on that doesn't punish law abiding citizens. It was doomed from the start because they passed it in the night without any warning, to many New Yorkers that was seen as unjust and most New Yorkers didn't obey it because of that and rightfully so. The biggest smack in the face is when Cuomo sees how very few people registered their assault weapons, I can see him fuming already

I agree with the small group in that they are against gun violence, everyone is. But the SAFE ACT goes too far infringing on the rights of law abiding
citizens.

Its the bad elements on the streets with the guns, and MOST do NOT have "assault" rifles, they carry handguns.

The magazine limit ruling took place back in December with a court decision on the SAFE act
wording.  This doesn't mean that magazine limits won't be enacted in the future.

All good criminals and would-be mass murderers are very willing to comply and only load their guns with 7 rounds. They are afraid of the criminal charge for having more than 7 rounds and if they get caught on the way to the mass shooting or the gang revenge shooting, they might get a ticket. So it should be very effective. Thank you, oh glorious State of New York for keeping us so wonderfully SAFE! Your shill (the organ grinder) J.O. B.O.x has certainly complied by removing several rounds from his magazine himself!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
