The longer this goes on and STS holds it's ground the better for them. Think about it. STS is well aware that the Galesi project can only be enhanced with their relocation. The longer they hold out the better their bargaining position when it reaches the relocation level of talks. Galesi needs them out of there. If not only to improve the overall appearance of the site, but for future expansion if the current plan becomes a success. This site, along with the atomic facility are an absolute detriment to the projects success and have to be addressed (relocation). These facts are obvious. One only has to ride by the location. If the steel co. is removed wonder if that site will come under the super fund clean up umbrella. And are any contaminents leaking from the steel co. now or will in the future, onto the Galesi site once the Galesi site is "cleaned up". Don't think residents/investors would be content with the thought of leaking poluntants migrating onto their investment from the steel co. Don't think emminent domain can be claimed on the steel co. site so it looks like negotiation is the only viable avenue for a solution. And the longer STS waits the better deal they will get. |
