You provide the date Russia "invaded" Crimea where they already have a military base?
Crimea is voting to join the Russian Federation.  It doesn't sound as if Crimea is hostile
toward Russia's "invasion".

I didn't contend that Russia "invaded" Crimea... but YOU have posted repeatedly that
the USA "invaded" Vietnam.

So again I ask:

Do you think that Vietnam was an invasion Cicero???
Do you really?
Please post the press reports of the "invasion".  I'd like to read the details.

That what it said in your Bush/Purin Meme.

It appears Putin is liberating the Crimeans from the control of Kiev.

Not running, just asked how the Russia "invasion"(as you called it) differs from the US police action in Nam?  The Crimeans are voting to join the Russian Federation, they WANT the Russians in Crimea.  Just like the Vietnamese wanted the US in S Vietnam.

INVASION???
The "RUSSIAN INVASION" was not my view, but my poster was in response to others on this
board who DO agree with you on the "Russian Invasion".

See INVASION at:

Again I ask... Can you provide any press coverage of the USA invading Vietnam, as you
repeatedly contend???

the US 'helped' vietnam just as russia is helping ukraine.....I suppose if one is the 'invading' force it seems more like
a police action....the folks that live there have life interruptions....are the russians terrorists...was the US a terrorist
force in vietnam? do we change the names?

1. invading forces
2. policing forces
3. terrorist forces

To quote wikipedia

“An invasion is a military offensive in which large parts of the armed forces of one geopolitical entity aggressively enter territory controlled by another such entity, generally with the objective of either conquering, liberating or re-establishing control or authority over a territory, forcing the partition of a country, altering the established government or gaining concessions from said government, or a combination thereof…Due to the large scale of the operations associated with invasions, they are usually strategic in planning and execution.”

What was the objective of the hundreds of thousands of US soldiers running around Southeast Asia shooting military grade weapons at people?

Did you ever see Mohamed Ali do his "rope a dope" routine.  He would dance, he would
bob and weave, he would cover up and he would dodge punches, and for Ali it was an effective
strategy for boxing.
Cissy has been doing his own version of "Cicero Rope A Dope" by avoiding one of his many mistaken
views of history.  Cissy contends that the USA invaded Vietnam.  He won't even say which Vietnam
we invaded.  All I ask is that he backs up his views with press reports of the event.
A us INVASION of a foreign country must have made the papers... yet Cissy has yet to make good on
his claim that the USA invaded Vietnam.  Why won't Cissy show us some shred of press about his
"INVASION."

CissyPoo is just being CissyPoo...the discussion about Vietnam has been hashed over and over on this
forum, including CissyPoo's take on the whole thing. He/she now wants to make it into something else.
Now he/she wants to act like it's a whole different animal again....CissyPoo's world (narrow and closed)!

The US invaded Vietnam to maintain the partition between the north and south.  That was the military objective right?  The US lost the battle, mission failed, and Vietnam was reunified.

Since you were never in the military, but you are from a military family, I can only suggest that
you ask a family member for help in this case.  Ask them if the USA "INVADED" Vietnam.  Not if
the USA sent troops there, or if the USA fought there but if they INVADED Vietnam.
Since you haven't had much luck finding any press reports of the INVASION, and your understanding
of the word INVASION seems to be in question, please get help from your military family member
and possibly he/they can enlighten you.

Yes, I was told the US invaded S Vietnam after the USG set up a puppet government by propping up the first president of S Vietnam, who was a Roman Catholic and lived in New Jersey for 2 years.  This puppet dictator who was widely unpopular and threatened by a coup from within his own government - asked the USG for military help to preserve his unpopular presidency.  This Roman Catholic president was so unpopular among the predominately Buddhist population, he actually went so far as to ban the flying of the Buddhist Flag.  Once US forces set up bases in South Vietnam, they began conducting more invasions into Cambodia, Laos, and North Vietnam to preserve the partition between North and South Vietnam, which was established when post WWII Indochina was divided up.

I guess when a US puppet dictator invites you in to blow up their country to suppress political dissent protecting the puppet dictator, it's not an "invasion"

Yadda Yadda Yadda... where is the press reports of the US invasion of Vietnam.  Did the press not
cover such a momentous occasion?  I can show you press reports of the Normandy Invasion. And of
the invasion of Kuwait.  So why is there no press reports from the INVASION OF VIETNAM???
The Press must have missed that one...
or
Or it never happened.
