I'm thinking of organizing a field trip down to Proctor's theater. We're going to sit in a drum circle on the sidewalk out front. Don't worry, the sidewalk is heated. I figure we will all sing something, probably Kumbaya, to prove how much more we love Proctor's than those other people who say they do. If anyone needs a ride, I'm going to see if I can borrow the Lange Pharmacy van. It has a rainbow on it. |

I thought this was about the McCheese house tour which is a complete flop according to closed sales records. Want a house on Henry with taxes of $6,000? All we need is another tax giveaway to connected millionaires and it will turn around. |

People willing to move to Henry Street would be "good for Schenectady", more so than that Potemkin Village downtown. Yet you would pay through the nose for that privilege. No, my Kumbaya Tour would just be an empty gesture, to demonstrate how easy it is to sit back and SAY how much more I revere Proctor's than anyone else. Why is an elected official trying to entice the unsuspecting into something they can't afford and will be sorry for later? I have gone on, at length, about the real estate market and homebuying, on this site and elsewhere. What you read in the papers or see on tv is not the whole story, they do advertising for the realty and construction industries, and even government propaganda. The taxes have to come down, way down, for beginning homeowners without a lot of money not to get in over their heads. |

Proctor's is a total flop which has given nothing back to the oppressed taxpayer or community it allegedly serves. Where's the PILOT Morris? Morris is now traveling around the country teaching other cities how they can screw over the taxpayers like he does back in Schenectady. With the County hotel tax we give him 100% of. The same DEM frauds that scream about Union College {which unlike Proctor's is actually an educational institution} will not discuss the Proctor's educational tax scam. If everyone paid their fair share we wouldn't be in this fiscal free fall. |
