I notice that the mayor is attempting to do something about the street corners, where piled up snow is blocking the crosswalks. Last year, nobody did anything about the corners, that I remember. Who was it who 'carped' about the crosswalks, on this site? That's right, you can thank me later.
You see, I take care of my own responsibilities, but I and some of my neighbors also take care of some of the conditions on my block that no one else is handling, and we help out each other as well. The last storm, I was the one who dug out the hydrant nearest my house. I don't have to use the crosswalks if I don't choose to, because I have a car. The people who do have to use them are poor people, children, and sometimes the elderly or handicapped. I can't go around shoveling out all the corners myself, I am not strong enough even if I had the time. One thing I can do, is point out that it needs to be done. Which I do.
As far as rooting for failure, when McCarthy first took office, and he put that stupid jeep up for sale, I stated here that I was hopeful that it was a positive sign. I want him to do a good job as mayor. If it takes "constant carping" to get the job done, then so be it. It shouldn't have to.
p.s. Proctor's is failing whether I "root" for it or not.

No, the sad fact is that you are just a miserable shrew with nothing better to do.

Is that really you, bt, or has McCheese assumed your identity?
You are right, DVOR, I don't have anything better to do than helping my neighbors during a state of emergency.
Nature will handle it, there's a thing called "spring" that usually takes care of snow, if not "spring" then "summer" for sure, but the problem is, when somebody in government decides to "save" me money, I never see the savings, either in reduced taxes and fees, or in more money for something else.If I had a half-@$$ plow job on my street, which I do, but then I could go over to Central Park and see all the happy people skating on the beautiful lake, I would maybe think that my money was being carefully spent for maximum good for the most people.
