Happened to come across this one while looking something up
Of course all of us intelligent people know the city and the dem puppets on the board of assessment all tell lies, the city claimed in 2011 that this house would sell for $488,000. It is obvious from the rolls that the owner went to the board of assessment only last May, and the board claimed the house would sell for $405,000 despite the fact that back in August 2012 the asking price was lowered to $375,000 and there were still no willing buyers thus proving the value was far less than the board of assessment claimed. But the owner could possibly be involved in a certiorari lawsuit, almost every council meeting the agenda --yes even as recently as last Tuesday (Feb 10) has certiorari suits to approve for settlement, so maybe this one is going through that process as of this writing.
It was listed 2/12/10, four years ago, asking price $409,000
Asking price went through three reductions, currently asking $359,000, last price reduction occurred 2/12/13, one year ago
Taxes $18,000 (after some reduction in assessment
Still no offers

That house is a grand house and worth every penny. Maybe the nayboobs would prefer to see the city return to the former miserable days of failure under GOP leaders. Such negativity does not help this wonderful city of Schenectady as it is in the midst of a grand renaissance and rebirth. With such a notable mention in the Times Union about this houe, I am confident that several buyers will come forth and put in bids and a wonderful family will move into it, thus giving the city and schools unequalled support. Following the completion of the Erie Blvd project and the new condominiums along the river, it is only obvious that this city will be growing by leaps and bounds and watch the nayboobs go into hiding never to be seen or heard from again.
Yep, over one year since that comment was made and STILL NO BUYERS!!!! Any comment from the person who posted that on the TU site????? Gone into hiding, too embarrassed to reply
It's funny but at the same time it's sad, sad that the city is a big failure, home values tanking, tax base falling, taxes up, few people willing to buy a home IN the city.
