Well then, who else criticizes Proctor's on here, and should not be doing it? This board? Do you mean the administrators? Who? I criticize Proctor's, and I learned some things from some of the other posters who criticize it, and I consider their criticism a public service. Exactly who were you attempting to lecture?
Over and over, I and others on this board have demonstrated the connection between the city's choices and the condition of other areas of this city. I don't think it is right, that we have a black hole just hemorrhaging our money, when there are other areas of the city that desperately need it. Proctor's benefits a select few. It is a fact, and time and again I've asked for someone, anyone with any hard evidence to the contrary to show it to me. The reporter who wrote that article was very diligent, she couldn't find the proof that we were wrong, can you? If anyone has a 'thing' for Proctor's, besides me, good for them! I consider them good citizens.

You're blinded by hatred. I'll pray for you.

I'm an enigma, even to myself.

As posted above:
" Bitchin about it's every burp and hiccup doesn't add, it only subtracts.
Constructive criticism is always helpful.  Whining usually isn't."

YOU seem to think a lot of yourself... as if every post was aimed at you.  Look back on this thread
and many others, and you'll see many posters with both good and bad things to say about Proctors.

Again, I didn't single you out in my post, BUT YOU DID!

And again, Box, who has a 'thing' for Proctor's? I criticize Proctor's, but you don't mean me. Who, then? I'm not to speak a word against your precious Proctor's, because rainbows? Oh, you don't mean me. Who do you mean?
You know what else is a gem? Morris Avenue. How about Lake Iroquois, in the winter? That used to be lovely, seeing all the skaters enjoying themselves. People from outside Schenectady ask me about it, still. But no, we can't afford that gem, we have to pour money into that patronage mill downtown, which most of the residents can't afford to go to anyway. I should hope people are down on that, and on the whole apartheid downtown money-sucking scam. Tell the people who had their homes taken away how wonderful it all is.

I agree about being blinded... but I'm not a prayer.

And another thing I have never in my life seen so many people root for failure. You're all screwed up in the head. JMHO

Well, it was a failure from inception.  It doesn't survive without being heavily subsidized.  If it didn't take a penny from the taxpayer, I would bet everybody would be proud of their hometown theater. Unfortunately it is clearly a boondoggle that is financially benefiting the political/not-for-profit class with tax dollars.

Well, if it did take money in the form of a tax exemption, and then the nearly $200,000, and then the room tax, and managed to at least break even, without the new parking meters, maybe I could try to be proud. But no, they just waste more and more money, wreck historic buildings, know they even get uppity with paying customers.

You Madam, are thick as a brick. I'm done with this thread. But just so you know I'll be at the next Proctor's show, I'll also be at the next Eight Step show. I'm sure you won't be there, but rather whining in your cellar puffing on your crack pipe. Good day.

Okay, smarty-pants sipp, just where am I "thick"? That's just more name calling, btw. Facts and figures, please. Refute the facts in the newspaper article, please. Show me where I'm wrong.
I don't care who goes to Proctor's, btw. Where did you ever get the impression that I wanted people to stay away, and not enjoy themselves? You didn't, and neither did Box. Lecturing me about Proctor's worth. Good Lord.
