We were driving through after having been at Trustco, and didn't stop to read but there's a huge banner above the store on that welfare store CW Price that seemed to say "everything must go."   And you can tell there's huge signs in every window.

Is that closing too?

For as busy a road as Altamont Ave is, and served by two buses, you'd think that Hannaford Plaza would have a waiting listof tenants.

But then, many think of that area as the city of Schenectady (the city is only a few feet way after all) and the city just cannot attract self sufficient (i.e., non-government funded) business.

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

There's THREE Trustco branches within, what, 1-1.5 miles (Curry Rd Shopping Center, Altamont across from PC and Hannaford/Walmart Plaza) .. logic and business says, they can't all be profitable.

Actually, they ALL are quite profitable.  That is why all 3 branches have remained open for so many years,

No, they've remained open because of leases - Hannaford Plaza's lease doesn't expire until 2020, Curry Rd expires this year and well, they own the bldg across from Price Chopper.

DVR is wrong and Trustco will be consolidating branches Countywide. Two in the City and one in town are closing. The bank in the Ghetto Chopper is closing 2/28. The disposable income rates in this
County are some of the lowest in the NE. While the teenage pregnancy rate is in the top twenty nationwide. This is also known as renaissance in some circles. Hannaford Plaza is too close to Mt P which is
in freefall. Two more businesses on Crane St are ready to shut. Having access to bus lines to no positive in this backwater.

Trustco on Curry Road is NOT moving to Campbell Rd.  Trustco is building a new building ON Curry Road IN the same plaza just closer to the road.
The Trustco inside Rotterdam Square Mall is moving from the mall to the former Main Florist site.
You can be certain that Trustco did very careful study and planning before making those decisions.
Therefore, only the illogical don't actually know ALL the facts and make sense of the tiny portion that they do know.

BANKS DON'T COUNT AS A 'BUSINESS' .... there is the internet banking and virtual currency...

IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER WHAT TRUSTCO DOES....or any other brick and mortar bank for that matter.......

they are ALREADY outdated.....

It isn't closing, but Macy's in Rotterdam has the ceiling about to fall in. It was dripping the last time I was there, that was last year.

What delusional planet do you live on???   Banks most certainly do count as a business.  While there is internet banking, how do you explain the fact that every bank is investing in new branches or updating existing branches?

And I bet you are trying to come with some half-assed reason to blame Mayor McCarthy or the County Legislature because Macy's has a leaky roof.   BTW -- that building has had problems with leaking roofs since it was built - by Filene's - in 1995.
