they probably wouldn't want him to touch their hair....I work with folks of the african decent....the ladies ALWAYS ask if so-and-so knows how to do black hair....doing hair is 'art' of sorts....I'm not sure if the guy is racist. never met him.
but there IS a concern from folks, white/black/curly/straight hair, that want someone who is skilled at that texture to cut/curl/color etc PROPERLY.....

Most barber shops expertise along the lines of race, I don't know anyone who is offended by it. There are many black barber shops that if I walked in they would look at me like I had two heads, I would rather them be honest and say they don't do white peoples hair then to attempt it and screw it up. Think of it this way, would you bring your Chevy truck to Mohawk Honda to get it repaired?

Natural law says yes, as an individual and rights to your property you can serve who you wish to serve. Doing so, you run the risk of excluding customers and losing money. What a government can't do is institutionalize discriminatory laws and force individuals and private property owners to serve only certain individuals. That was the Jim Crow Laws; the LAWS MANDATED that businesses have separate seating, bathrooms, water fountains etc based on race. So in the case of Jim Crow Laws, a private business was in violation of the law if you DIDN'T practice discrimination.

Nobody seems to get that he is is tongue in cheek. Barbers usually specialize in cutting white hair of black. As a child, my family and I knew and Italian guy who had course, wavy black hair. It was thick and like brillo pads. He was forced to get his hair cut at a black barber shop on Albany st or something many years ago. White barbers werent equipped to do it well. They would NOT cut his hair. It wasn't his race, it was his hair which was basically like what African Americans have on their heads. Maybe now it would be different, but back in the day like when Jim went to barbering school, you learned one way or the other.
