A rendering of the planned CTDI facility.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office is announcing that the Pennsylvania-based firm Communications Test Design Inc. will open a new operations center in the Glenville Business and Technology Park in Schenectady County. The planned 130,000-square-foot, $11.4 million development is expected to create 150 jobs, according to the press office’s release.

The company will occupy the lion’s share of a building to be constructed by the Galesi Group, with an option to expand into the remaining 21,000 square feet of available space.

Empire State Development will providing the company with $800,000 in Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits as the new jobs are created. Schenectady’s Metroplex Development Authority will provide a $175,000 grant toward project costs; the company has also put in an application to National Grid for a $250,000 grant to help offset the costs of the building’s gas and electric needs.
