SCHENECTADY — Shawna Gibson went into Schenectady Police Headquarters Friday morning for her boyfriend's criminal case and left with one of her own.
The 20-year-old woman tried to pass through security with a loaded 9 mm in her purse around 9:15 a.m., according to a criminal complaint. City Court is located in the same Liberty Street building as the police headquarters.
The weapon was detected by an X-ray machine manned by state court officers posted just beyond the front entrance, according to the court document and Gibson was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
