The Schenectady City School District is looking at a major capital project. Phase one would focus on renovating Oneida, Mont Pleasant and Central Park Schools to make them all middle schools.
The district also wants to open the Howe Early Childhood Education Center as an elementary school.
Cost of phase one is estimated at $70 million, most of which would be covered by the state. The proposal was scheduled to be presented at Wednesday night's meeting of the Board of Education. A binding referendum is scheduled for March 25th.
