Oh, DVOR is back from Omaha?
We already dispensed with that "revitalization" hooey as the crock that it is, try to keep up.
Believe me, when you see Metroplex involvement (which should have gone away by now), there is an invisible hand somewhere, cutting itself a generous slice of pie, with pretty generous crumbs falling into the laps of a whole bunch of "servers".
They keep this stuff secret from our sole representative before the paper gets it, why would that be? Could it be because this is stuff that doesn't stand up to scrutiny?

Metroplex is criminal.  Stealing money from county residents and giving it to select businesses.  It's a city full of non productive slugs.  Metroplex steals from the productive and shines sh*t called downtown to make it look otherwise.

As I stated, DV will NOT present ANY explanation whatsoever that shows the city is getting gbetter with the dems and Metroplex.  He will NOT respond to explain the effect plex is having on the property values, the tax BILLS, the home sales, the city's tax base, the lack of snow emergencies, road conditions, the numbers of vacant houses.

I said it here, he babbles but REFUSES explain what is improving.   Sure, there are new buildings downtown, but they were all paid for on the backs of the financially struggling homeowners in the city who can't afford it, the new properties downtown are tax exempt and the homeowners cant afford to pay their own tax bills PLUS the taxbills of downtown and so are losing their homes causing even more reduction in the tax base.

But the cheerleaders for downtown REFUSE to address what is happening throughout the rest of the city and to the long time taxpayers who are fleeing.

Sch'dy is too small to have an organization like Metroplex -- it is just too much. Put that money into police or whatever... and the mayor is just a puppet of the powers that be.

How about put that money back in the pockets of the residents?  Lower sales tax...Don't give it to those crooked police.

I just meant that for a city of 60,000 there is no need for a large agency with all of those salaries doing the same as a chamber of commerce ... instead the city could just negotiate their own tax breaks with incoming businesses .......

It seems Metroplex doesn't have a mission ... they bring in more restaurants putting existing restaurants out of business ... it's just a cycle of new money ....

not a cycle of NEW money...a cycle of status quo and bumping out the old for 'new' sort of....

changing of suits....

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

And with that said, the 6 other development agencies in Schenectady County are just as useless. Metroplex has its tentacles in each of them! When the Plex is giving too much money to a Mallozi or Galesi, another agency is waiting in the wings to shell out the dough.

Guess Gillen makes them an offer they can't refuse.

Cramped, oh heck no.   We are very flexible, especially Chris     (TMI)

No one would ever bother holding their breath for DV to respond.  We all know he never will.  But for sure, DV is proving that all of us "nayboobs" know what we are taling about, he is proving that we speak the truth.

Schenectady is making steady progress -- moving forward -- it has taken 10 years to pull Schenectady County out of the mess that the Republicans (Both Farleys, Duci and Jurzynski) left it in.  The work isn't over but the ship is heading in the right direction under extremely capable leadership at the city and the county level.

It's moving in the right direction?

Is a falling tax base the right direction for the city
Is falling home values the right direction for the city?
Is higher tax BILLS on financially struggling homeowners the right direction for the city?
Is an increase in vacant, abandoned houses the right direction for the city?
Is making financially struggling homeowners pay the taxes of the downtown millionaires and billionaires the right direction for the homeowners of the city?

The  city is making "steady progress" ????

DV, would you care to explain how an ever falling tax base in the city considered "steady progress?"
DV, would you care to explain how an ever increasing tax BILLS on financially struggling homeowners combined with reductions in essential services to the homeowners is called "steady progress?"
DV, would you care to explain how ever falling home values in the city considered "steady progress?"
DV, would you care to explain how making families with incomes of $40,000 pay the taxes of millionaires and billionaires in the city considered "steady progress?"

Just a few questions, of course, DV will NOT, he will ABSOUTELY NOT provide answers to those questions.

You all notice, in the past half year at least roughly, he avoids these boards more, because he cannot engage in conversation on these boards to address the facts, we can cite numbers showing the DRASTICALLY FALLING tax base and he largely avoids posting.  We can cite official numbers with evidence of falling home values, falling home sale prices, peoples underwater on their mortgages, falling home sales, increasing numbers of vacant and abandoned proeprties, long time taxpaying businesses closing or fleeing the city and DV just avoids coming to these boards altoghether.

But once in a while, he pops on spewing babble but not citing shred of evidence to back up what he says.

The ONLY thing he has to offer is to say there are lots of new buildings downtown.   But these buildings are NOT generating taxes, thus causing the homeowners in the neighborhoods to pay substantially more in taxes causing them to flee the city causing increased blight, less tax revenue for the city, resulting in cut backs to the people who live in the city, which all discourages anyone from buying a home and living IN the city.

In fact, DV not only REFUSES to buy a home IN the city, he won't even RENT an apartment IN the city---talk about hypocrisy!   Nothing but spewing babble which is not in any way supported by evidence, not one teeny weeny shred of evidence

Metrograft was created to increase sales taxes FAIL and stabilize property values TOTAL FAILURE. But nobody says nuthing because they still think they may get a crumb from
the crony capitalist table. Here's what you are getting higher taxes, more freebies for the DEM friends and family club and more idiot incumbents. Nothing will improve until 2015
when Roger Hull is elected Mayor in a landslide and the County returns to GOP/Real CONS sanity.

And this will help the overtaxed, overburdened, high taxed taxpayers HOW??

It will help the 3 property owners that couldn't give away their properties. End of story. Lower Eastern Ave is as bad a ghetto as the worst in HH. The middle class, job
creators have all fled replaced by the handout crowd. This was another neighborhood business district like Van Vranken. like Crane St, like Brandywine, like Broadway that have
been totally destroyed by DEM taxes and crony giveaways. BTW, what's up with beautiful St Joseph Church that was sold for an "art" studio?

St. Joseph's church building was NOT sold.  St. Joseph's Church is still functioning as an active, vital Catholic parish.
