Charter One bank has told customers that is closing it's Eastern Ave/Price Chopper branch in late February. Trustco is closing it's Sheridan Plaza and one Union Street Branch
this summer. The Bank of America on Nott Street was auctioned off. Four less branches for oppressed City residents. First all the stockbrokers left, then the professionals fled
and now banks are closing branches left and right. Of course, this happens in every renaissance. After paying the oppressive City/County property taxes there
is nothing left to deposit.

The BoA was a handy location for residents of the renaissance Van Vranken neighborhood to grab a little extra cash, wasn't it?

The banks are closing because they are always on alert for bank robbers!

There aren't enough working folks in the city that actually need or use banks.

Anyway....the brick and mortar banks will be a thing of the past someday in the near future. Between direct deposit, auto pay, debit cards and the internet...there really is hardly any need for a brick and mortar bank.

So true

Can we hear from anyone who wants to contradict that?    TOTAL SILENCE

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

The Banks are the smart ones. They know Schenectady is a financial hell hole no need to invest in Schenectady because the Democrats are driving people out of the city and county. I don't blame them for closing the doors!
